I worked at Farmfoods full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

I got 15% staff discount on all products, if we lucky enough to have in stock.

    Cons

bullied by management, made to do stocktakes on the day no notice and did not get paid for it. also rude customers talk badly and senior staff ignored and never backed staff up and not bar from the shop. new came to the store and belittled me in front of staff and customers.

    Advice to Management

train your staff to treat people with respect, staff and customers a like ? also need to train your staff more meticulously in every aspect. when you ask person to become supervisor should staff them train right away and they pay. I was asked to become supervisor and was not getting paid, but was expected to do extra responsibility and extra hours and got blamed when things went wrong. the manager was rude person and two faced and i suggest not work for farmfoods at all wages are not good and hop they close down|||||

    Pros

    Nice Colleagues
    15% Staff Discount Card

    Cons

Inadequate Training & Poor Ongoing Training
    Low Pay

    Advice to Management

Lost my Job abruptly after Probationary Period - I had received totally inadequate training due to Management Issues (so not my fault). Was not told about mistakes so was not able to rectify/learn from them. So I really was not given a fair chance. I was not given any Notice! I was enjoying working for Farmfoods and believe I had potential if I had received proper and ongoing training. I feel I have been treated unfairly and it is not my fault that the company had Management Issues/Problems in the Branch in which I was working which impacted on me as a New Employee

I worked at Farmfoods part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

15% Staff discount and that's it.

    Cons

Where do I even begin? I applied for the part time position which included a 12 hour contract spread across 3 days, my second week there they bumped my hours up to 25 and then to 35 hours! All without my consent. I applied for PART-TIME work for a reason and had no say in my hours. When I called in sick there is no understanding at all. Long work hours and you get treated like slaves. Stocktakes every other Saturday that take about 3 hours until midnight, not paid for overtime and the company itself cuts corners to stay cheap and competitive. No security and customers are sometimes aggressive with shoplifting being a regular occurrence. If you care about your health and well-being then AVOID THIS PLACE!

    Advice to Management

Start treating your staff like human beings.

I worked at Farmfoods full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

15% staff discount, life insurance 5x salary, company car, phone and laptop. Good wage 25-30k plus bonuses.

    Cons

Don’t get a minutes piece from top management. Phone non stop plus e-mails galore. Set unrealistic bonus targets. Everything that goes wrong is the area managers fault. Expected to drop everything at a moments notice. Day of or not. Silly youngsters as graduate management. Aggressive management show very little respect, and that’s right from the top!

    Advice to Management

Farmfoods has been run like a mini market grocers. Small minded owners. No advice will be listened to. That being said I enjoyed many years with them when the bad outweighed the good.

I worked at Farmfoods part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    15% discount and some customers

    Cons

Some of the branch managers know how to do there job & quite a few don't, I worked for them for about 18 months, you apply for part time & end up working full time hours, the staff are treated like something on the bottom of a shoe that's been spat out & trod on, they pick & choose there own team & treat a selection of few like outcasts & talk down to and belittle you on the shop floor, sneeky & deceitful bullies some of them, I got accused of steeling money from the till as well as being accused of other things, it was an experience I will give it that, WOW

    Advice to Management

Teach your branch mangers how to build a team rather than allowing them to pick and choose there own, it takes more than 1 to run a shop as big as that, create some team building routines so they realise everyone who works for the company is there for the same reason
