I have been working at First Data full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Freedom to work and is a big organisation so opportunities can be endless given you are the right fit for the management.

    Cons

Bad communication within the company between the high level and low level staff. Grade banding of employees is terrible, call centre staff are on the same level as staff who are doing a job which requires skill and if you are on the lower end of the grading structure there is no benefits at all (no bonus whatsoever) No clear career progression paths and the pay is massively underpaid in comparison to other companies and yearly increases are in rate with inflation nothing to do with performance e. No recognition/incentive to work hard.

I have been working at First Data full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Flexibility, interesting varied work, some of the nicest people I have ever worked with! A culture of 'work hard and get rewarded' There are more employee resource groups, workshops, training seminars being created to allow for internal movement in what is a very large company. - Get a on the training programs and find yourself a mentor.(Seek out one, who does not work in your area) You will learn a lot. - Network. Every opportunity you get! - Spend some time on First Data University Overall opportunity to progress has been very good and obtainable

    Cons

Isolated location office unless you drive Iffy Work-life balance Difficult structure to learn if you are super new, the organisation is very large and ever changing. Training is often lacking for new starts at supervisor and manager level (this is improving over time) Up-skilling and personal development of staff can sometimes be left to the side

I have been working at First Data full-time

    Pros

    Chill work environment, nice people

    Cons

I worked at First Data full-time for more than 8 years

    Pros

Basildon has a great office, very modern. Good Location, But landlocked. Friendly Staff, Colleagues Great Experience if you are just starting out, or just temporary Short term reward culture Is mostly OK, but deteriorated over last 2 years Good work life balance Good Holiday Entitlement.

    Cons

-Pay/Compensation was lacking, based on achievements and amount of time invested achieving company objectives. -Upper Management was lacking, Middle Management was understanding but equally frustrated. -Too many managers/directors, not enough workers. -Company lacking direction for last year at least. -Not enough time to train or skill up. -Recent staff cuts and Recruitment freeze for over a year. -High Staff Turnover, Moral was low end of 2018 -Slow to implement changes, Departmental Bureaucracy was commonplace, in such a large company. -Inconsistent implementation approaches across departments, -Working in Silos, Communication could have been better. -Ideas put in place by here today gone tomorrow Directors/Managers, By the time the changes came into effect the requester had left and a new director/manager has a new idea superseding the previous. Company had issues with departmental managerial discipline. reinventing the wheel and not listening to alternatives.
