I have been working at Ford Motor Company full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Friendly working environment, with a good ethos of everyone generally being together and working together.

    Cons

That easy-going, friendly environment means innovation and tasks are slow. Needs a bit of the opposite...

I have been working at Ford Motor Company for more than 3 years

    Pros

    * Personable and friendly employees and management teams * Genuinely enjoyable work environment * Good work -life balance * Cultural diversity

    Cons

    * Agency workers are given no job security, with frequent risk to contracts being ended early with little notice. * Hard working and productive agency workers are given no recognition, nor an avenue to raise awareness of capability and performance to Ford management. * On the contrary, Ford employees who have considerably less work load (compared to agency) are given regular recognition, rewarded and given long term employment/security. * A LARGE amount of 'dead wood' employees who don't care about working at Ford, who are cynical and lazy are allowed to stay in their jobs and continue to not work as team players. * Productive and enthusiastic workers are too often lost / laid off. * Loss of 'talent'. * Reluctance to bring in resource from non-STEM engineering / automotive background.

I worked at Ford Motor Company for more than a year

    Pros

Lots of resources available, such a big company means you can get things done and have 'gravity' within the industry

    Cons

Old fashioned work environment. Dark, grey 60s style buildings. Old school cubicles. Very disjointed departments, not much sharing and collaboration. Low productivity, they seem afraid to fire or discipline people who don't pull their weight

I have been working at Ford Motor Company full-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

The pay is good and the work environment is generally relaxed and cooperative. They have good benefits (e.g maternity, 1 year on full pay!) and plenty of policies about work/life balance, with most managers being understanding and helpful in that regard.

    Cons

This is a large organisation with all the inertia that comes with that. Product development mostly deals in project management of suppliers who do almost all the real technical work. Management promotions depend on fitting a generic template, with no requirement to know anything about the work of the people you'll be managing. If you're technically minded, you have to abandon that and subscribe to the management group think to progress, or you'll likely be under a management chain that has no idea what you actually do, and has no interest in anything other than whether you've done it on time or not (it's a lot easier to judge whether a deadline is in the past than the quality of work you have no experience in yourself). 1st level in the management chain rotate through positions every few years to develop their careers, so you usually spend a couple of years training your boss to understand the basics of your specific area, only for them to move on brie they've done anything useful.
