I have been working at Fractal Analytics full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Good people to work with Good exposure to real world problems Flexible working hours Freedom to choose your projects and managers

    Cons

The biggest factor in somebody experiencing any of the Pros mentioned above is - what their first manager is like. People have stuck to Fractal and loved their tenure here and there are people at the other end of the spectrum as well. There is little consistency in firm wide employee policies. Each year, some new policies are introduced to correct the mistakes of the past. Sometimes, these new policies are no more than...

    Advice to Management

Take care to identify good achievers and nurture them in an uninhibited fashion. Too many good people can be heard they plan to leave when stuck in between a rock and a hard place.

I have been working at Fractal Analytics full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

I have been working in this company for the last 4 years and few things which I have liked about the company are - Freedom, few amazing peers (at least for me) and exposure to clients. It's a very jolly environment and sometimes work pressure is never felt due to the atmosphere.

    Cons

Every year i continue to work and assess the company, I see it is on a decline in terms of people quality. Company has become a place where a person is not getting credit on the basis of work, effort he/she puts in, instead the growth/appraisal is directly related to how much he/she can do buttering of their managers. There is no consistency in appraisal parameters, evaluation criteria across accounts, just related to...

    Advice to Management

Dear Srikanth, Ensuring consistency across organization is paramount if you envision Fractal to grow to thousands, else company will always be handling people issues. Good people will continue to leave while the less performing people will remain happy and enjoy in the company. We need to have a strict process in place to evaluate the set of people we want to keep in the company- there are n number of people who are...

    Pros

WORK life balance Intellectually simulating work environment

    Cons

Management SEEMS to lack vision and aggression. At least from a distance it looks so.

    Advice to Management

Some in the leadership team don't understand there role completely and expect juniors to fulfill the duty on there behalf. They are clueless in tough scenarios and expect juniors to come up with innovative solutions all the time. They need to understand juniors learn and get inspired from Seniors. Mentoring and coaching is big part of senior management's profile other than forwarding emails. You cannot corner people...

I have been working at Fractal Analytics full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Good for Collage passout's as environment is pretty chilled out CEO is a very good person, a motivator Salary is OK , Office timings are fine Fractal Policies Bright future if you have US Visa

    Cons

80%-90% of the work is reporting, Core Analytics Projects are hard to come by Goal Sheet (Mission Impossible 6) Harassment of good people (especially if they are on notice period) Very Very Poor Onshore people (wish they knew some analytics/mathematics) Lack of quality training material

    Advice to Management

Please stop sending any Analyst /Leads to Onshore just because they have visa , kindly consider their Knowledge level,Ability to handle Client and communication ability too. As they screw up the project and then the years of whole team effort goes to vain. Current goal sheet is direct representation of Very High Attrition, i hope next year will be better one. Please dont harass people who are on notice period (You...

    Pros

Good learning place, good teams, good place to start career, learn and move ahead. If you are self motivated individual, you can find good people in the company to learn from.

    Cons

Poor salaries, Used to be great 3 years back. Loosing the culture of fun in work. Too much revenue focused. If you are not staffed on a project, you are just a pool of resource nobody to take care of.

    Advice to Management

Do you want to be "Mckinsey in Analytic" by following the "MuSigma Way"?? Doesn't seem like it is going to happen.

I have been working at Fractal Analytics full-time for more than a year

    Pros

People Principles is a great concept if followed to the letter. A lot of trust and independence is given to the employees to chart their own career path Some folks are really passionate to make a difference Senior folks are always ready to hear your ideas The onus is on the employees to take ownership and bring out innovations in whatever work they are doing.

    Cons

Compensation is below par as compared to the industry standards.I recently got promoted but got a very meagre hike which was very demotivating. No support for any education program.I tried to get a sponsorship for my part time Masters which would have added tremendous value to company but the answer I got was that we don't have any policy yet and we are still figuring out.So even if I want to learn and add value to the...
