I worked at Freese and Nichols full-time for more than a year

    Pros

    - Nice and hard-working people - Flexible schedules (no problem with working from home on occasion) - Team atmosphere, very supportive - Management cares about fostering a family-like culture - Regular end-of-year bonuses and pay raises

    Cons

    - Not a lot of clear opportunities for non-Engineers - Some groups are having difficulty hiring people, so many people are overworked (I wasn't) - No paid parental leave

    Advice to Management

    - Don't overwork your employees in the name of constant growth - Think more about the career paths for non-Engineers

I worked at Freese and Nichols full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Great team, great bosses and most of the people are great to work with. Great benefits and a culture unlike anywhere I’ve worked before.

    Cons

Most people enjoy working there, so they stick around. This means there’s not a lot of room for advancement.

    Advice to Management

Corporate employees are treated differently than technical staff. It’s next to impossible becoming an associate or principal.

I have been working at Freese and Nichols full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

There is always someone to ask if you have a question. Getting it done right is more important than profit You are never put in ethical dilemmas. You have the option to get paid for overtime or bank away those hours for vacation.

    Cons

If you have to cover a spouse and kids, the health insurance premium as of 2017 is about $715/month witheld from your paycheck.

    Advice to Management

You’ve got to do something about the high health insurance premiums.

I have been working at Freese and Nichols full-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

Great culture Good pay Amazing people FNI is a wonderful place to work. While there are always some nits to pick; overall this is a really good company.

    Cons

Advancement is pretty much confined to engineers. Understandable in the field and they are making changes to include others somewhat, but for the most part PE = boss.

I worked at Freese and Nichols full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Goal oriented, ethical, professional as well as family oriented. A fun place to work as well as given many opportunities for personal growth through courses provided.

    Cons

Don’t really have any other than the pay scale could’ve been better for the department. I know there are budgets to follow, but showing recognition with higher raises would’ve been nice.
