      Stay Away

      Pros

      Working here you will get a lot of responsibility from your first day. Most people in the company are pleasant as well.

      Cons

      You will NOT be paid here, no matter how long you stay. Interns are expected to work 9-6, with the responsibilities of a full-time employee and there is no structure whatsoever. You have to learn everything yourself and you won't get any guidance. You will be yelled at for every little mistake you make and if you do something right it will be taken for granted and marginalized. You'll be told that you will be at the forefront of mobile and creative innovation, but that is not really true. You will spend your time reading about it in TechCrunch, MediaPost etc while the CEO is traveling the country, networking. Although any potential client can see that the company is in shambles. The CEO travels so much, in fact, that he has no time to actually build his own company. Lunch breaks are frowned upon. The turnover rate is insanely high. The longest standing employee (minus the two founders) started in February. A lot of the employees are foreigners that have no alternative work options.

      FDG is in NYC, and success here has different rules. We no longer rely on interns, but since we only hire from within, we do want to give opportunities that other companies won't to people who ache for real challenges and fast professional and personal growth. We want diversity, so we encourage a global workforce to find their American dream here, lucky for us, many choose to do so. Finally, we take no hire for granted, and as a team we know this.

      Nice interns, but nothing else.

      Very horrible company and boss. Firstly, the boss won't pay you. All people there are interns. The boss would tell you have to work "3 months" for free to become an employee, but his "3 months" is based on 8 hours a day and 5 days a week, which means if you work only 3 days a week, you have to work 4-5 months for free! But it doesn't mean anything even if he says you are an employee and put your photo on the website, because he won't pay you! Secondly, the boss cheats. He asked UI designer to make fake concert ticket for him, and gave fake check to developer.

      We treat each internship as a case-by-case basis of the individuals at our company. Given your skills, as well as your availability, it is possible an internship may last as long as needed to improve enough to a full-time position, if that is your wish. We pride ourselves in allowing people to put as much effort into their work as they want to see come out of it, so we do not condone bashing anyone on the team who is dedicated enough to do so of their own choice. We are sorry you felt unappreciated, and encourage you to communicate this sooner at your next opportunity so you don't feel your time is wasted! Thank you for your thoughtful advice, but we will not be shutting down anytime soon. Thanks again for giving us another opportunity to grow and learn!

      If we were falsifying reviews, I guess we'd keep picking on the dedicated team and the CEO! We have definitely addressed past mistakes, work really hard to improve culture, and hit goals that are unattainable for most people and other companies-- weekly. We definitely try not to berate or yell at people who think first and work hard, but the work we do is intense most of the time. As we hit our stride, we're raising our bar of expectations for team members higher every day, so we're not for everyone, and we're okay with that.
