    Advice to Management

Everyone complains, but when everyone is complaining about the same thing, it may be best to listen.

    Pros

You get something resembling compensation. Many work remotely. Dress code is lax. Stable despite being in bankruptcy.

    Cons

The entire company is the CEO's personal toy and there is neither direction nor feedback from senior management. This leaves middle managers and line workers scrambling to look busy and justify their existence, but it's really all quite pointless since the continuity of the company has exactly nothing to do with performance (Google for "FSNNQ" and click "Max" if you don't understand). So what does all this mean? Simply put, it means nothing you do here matters. Good job, bad job, no job. Having tested all levels of effort, the conclusion is they produce the same net result: nothing. Whatever passion you bring to Fusion will slowly wither away and you will become an empty shell wondering where the years have gone. There are really only three types of employee here: those without other options, those without any self-respect, and those not bright enough to fully appreciate their situation. Many employees are perpetually tied up with status/prioritization calls. Sadly, the organizers don't fully grasp the irony of how this implies some sort of coherent goal being moved towards (there isn't). Also, priorities change randomly and in self-contradictory ways, so it's not clear why anyone bothers. More "fun" facts: * HR is just for show and will simply defer to the manager of the department (in a dispute you automatically lose) * titles/promotions/responsibilities given out arbitrarily and can be taken back without notice or explanation * no real chain of command: my boss inserted another layer between them and myself, but then not only went around this middle boss to me directly, but also to my subordinates...all this without coordinating with anyone * systems/policies of all acquired companies are not integrated and nobody is qualified for the task * gratuitous (ab)use of the royal "we" and "the business" suggests pathological aversion to personal responsibility

I worked at Fusion Telecommunications International full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

There are some honest hard working people in the group

    Cons

Horrible management, since the merge with Megapath/Birch, this company has lost it's 'mom and pop' identity and now treats their employees like they are robots. Upper management has unrealistic expectations because they micromanage to a tee and don't care about the mental health of their teams. Forget about any sort of raise, not even a petty raise to make you feel any better. Everyone is worked to the point of mental breakdown every week and yet they have no mercy. The CEO is constantly trying to cover up their bankruptcy situation with lies, the story changes every few weeks, it's a wonder this establishment still exists.

    Advice to Management

Stop with the micromanagement bs - numbers don't mean everything, you trying to keep your job as upper management does not mean work your teams until the point of exhaustion to fulfill your unrealistic quotas. Also rewarding your employees for their work might help with the morale, doing more work with no compensation is a big reason why everyone is extremely miserable at this place (not to mention how underpaid everyone is), even a Costco employee can make more than someone with a technical position which is sad.

    Pros

Everything is falling apart so much that you are lost in a see of disaster and no once really notices what you are doing. There is such high turnover that if you are worth something you are likely to get promoted quickly and grab a title that can give you a career boost.

    Cons

Employees have zero empowerment to influence executive decisions and executive decisions destroy your job. Vendors are not paid and they are consistently on credit hold. Employees are all utterly miserable. All the best employees are actively looking for a new job and the others could not care less if fire caught to the whole company. CEO makes a huge amount of money, even more in bonuses, but bonuses and benefits were stripped from employees. Salary employees are expected to work 50+ hours a week with below industry average pay, while constantly being belittled and beat up by upper management. RUN.

    Advice to Management

Care? You are not only swimming with miserable employees but there partners are miserable, their kids are miserable. Give your employees a say in things, help then, get in the line of action making things easier. Fight for their well being. You are losing endless wonderful employees and that is very sad for you.

I worked at Fusion Telecommunications International full-time

    Pros

Free monthly lunch and some employees are nice.

    Cons

Lacks trainings, real management and workers are treated as second class citizens. Managers are very rude to employees especially behind doors.

    Advice to Management

Need to do a major Reorg of management and hire knowledgeable people that can really implement new systems that are up to date that meet 2017 requirements. Hire managers that care about employees and let them have a VOICE. Hire individuals that can make a positive impact to the company.

Former Employee - Anonymous Employee in Atlanta, GA

I worked at Fusion Telecommunications International full-time

    Pros

There was no set schedule or particular dress code, so you could come in at 10am wearing jeans or even casual lounging pants.

    Cons

Though there was no set schedule, the work hours were long, 9+ hours with 12 being the norm for most. The hours were long because there are 9 billing systems to extract data from or add data to and very few people to do it. The processes where long and inefficient.

    Advice to Management

Focus entirely on improving the systems and processes in the finance department. Your people could get more done in less time, have less stress, more rest, a higher morale, and better performance. Figure out how to make that happen rather than expecting them to work longer hours. Take proper care of your body, mind, and "spirit" so that you can see the value in others doing so - and encourage it. Your bottom line will even see improvement.

I have been working at Fusion Telecommunications International full-time for more than 8 years

    Pros

In about five years I was promoted 3 times and compensated accordingly. Hard work and persistence does not go unnoticed.

    Cons

This company is for hard workers. If you're lazy stay away, if you're a hard worker you will fit in and grow with the company.

    Advice to Management

    Keep doing what you're doing.
