Pros
All round Fyber ticked all the boxes for a place to work, but for me the defining business Pro's would be that they were miles ahead of the competition at identifying and following industry trends within the in-app ecosystem and constantly setting a benchmark. On the publisher monetisation side of the business, it was fast moving, innovative and Fyber is a front-runner SSP. As a place to work, the UK office has a... great team and a fun atmosphere that makes you want to go to work each day. Company benefits were also great! Fyber is a company moving in the right direction, good prospects for the future! Especially with partnerships like Facebook etc.
Show MoreCons
In my first few years at Fyber the inter-office communication in terms of support / general information was terrible. This has been resolved dramatically in the last year but it was the worst I had experienced at a publicly traded co. when I first arrived in 2016. There were times when there was a lack of leadership in the UK. Not enough focus on the brand / agency sales / direct advertiser sales - given that... they had a fantastic product, just not the internal tools to execute brand requirements. The original German leadership / management was terrible (all gone now). The best thing to happen to the company was the acquisition of Inneractive and have their senior management take over.
Show MoreAdvice to Management
The only constructive advice I have are that there was often a mismatch between investment (time, focus, energy and business prioritisation) between supply and demand. As an SSP Fyber are fantastic at focusing on their publishers needs but there was a severe lack of investment on the demand side (agencies and brands) from a product, platform and team perspective. Finding the balance between the 2 is key to the... success of any SSP. Often they would build an incredible business strategy / plan which required strong business tech and product on both sides . But only end up building the supply - publisher facing products and leave the demand tech & product til later (MUCH later), so the demand side (money coming in) suffered.

"full of children"
StarStarStarStarStarI worked at Fyber full-time
Pros
no really a proper pro but got some good investors that helped cash flow. Good place for non experienced people, first level entry job.
Cons
as any other berlin based start up is full of non-professionla non-experienced employees. office is pretty much a kindergarten, underpaid non german employees and definitely overpaid german managers. Seems hierarchy is done based on your passport... Copy cut business model, do not join if you are an open minded person because you will pretty much see yourself duplicating whatsoever leading company has done.... Couple of dinosaur employees as well, they have developed their career within the company, have no clue what goes on behind "Fyber wall"

Doesn't RecommendNegative OutlookDisapproves of CEOI have been working at Fyber full-time for more than 3 years
Pros
the pay check clears fine
Cons
This is one of the worst companies I've worked for, it has toxic culture.Management gaslights and lies you. Pay is average but they try to make it like its a startup, it is not. Lots of turnover and no transparency.
Advice to Management
be honest and stop spinning issues to mislead people.

Doesn't RecommendNegative OutlookDisapproves of CEOI worked at Fyber full-time for more than 3 years
Pros
It used to be a company with a lot of technical and management innovation. One could learn a lot and had a lot of room to improve things around
Cons
Unfortunately, most people who were creating the great working and engineering culture left the company before or during the merger. Those who stayed burned out quickly and left after a while, too. The new engineering leadership in Berlin looked very promising in the beginning but turned out to be another micromanaging, psychopathic-like disaster. No trust and delegation but constant, very specific directions... (aka "I tell you how to do it, you just go and write code") about architectural and code design decisions presented as help, even if nobody needed or asked for it. Multiple high-profile engineers left because of it. Some of the new engineering leadership acts and appears to be all angelic and down to Earth while covering anyone who crosses they path with dirt behind closed doors, inventing lies and cover stories about reasons why people are leaving the company, at the same time ignoring and pretending to not to see ex-colleagues visiting the office - like if they are personal enemies now, etc. It might sound like I am just an angry engineer who blames management for everything but in this case it really is fully management's fault that the company went south so badly and instead of innovating is only capable of wrapping an old candy in a new cover, all while shaking in agony.

Pros
It's a competitive and dynamic industry so one is constantly challenged by having to learn more about the products, competitors, clients businesses, etc.. there's plenty of room for growth and contributions to be made if one is willing to roll up their sleeves. This makes for a great setting for career growth. The office environment, in general, has improved a lot over the last year and is fun, energetic and in a... modern office in a great location in downtown SF.
Show MoreCons
Competitive and dynamic industry requires one to be constantly learning and improving and a lot of that is self-initiated. WFH policy could be more flexible to accommodate for better work/life balance.
Advice to Management
Continue getting feedback from the wider groups/teams/leads that are getting direct market insights. Allow for a WFH or unlimited vacation policy to encourage more trust in our work setting and amongst employees.

"Good Office Culture- Improving Office Morale"

Pros
The New York office has had a very good office culture in my time at Fyber despite some ups and downs and some tough periods. People genuinely seem to get along with each other and it shows. Our WeWork space has improved Overall, morale seems to be improving in other offices as well as things have stabilized after having to merge four companies and integrate them all into one unified company. The company seems... to have positive momentum now, though as with all ad tech companies that aren't FB or Google, there will always be some risks. Management seems to value career advancement and development, as they have looked to promote people rather than look for outside help and I've seen numerous examples of people being able to shift from one department to another if there's an opportunity. Management has also made a concerted effort to hire and promote women, including to leadership positions. Perks are pretty decent and PTO policy is relatively generous though not unlimited.
Show MoreCons
The company is not completely in the clear financially as some previous acquisitions left a heavy debt load but management has done a good job trying to address this. As said previously, we're not FB, Google, TheTradeDesk, or Amazon so there will be challenges, but that's not unique to Fyber. However, we will really need to execute well over the next 12-18 months to make sure Fyber is a viable company... long-term. Depending on your point of view, it might be a con that we're one of the smaller offices. Also, depending on your POV, working in a WeWork might be not be ideal. We're not as well-funded as some companies in the space and Fyber is a public company, so there are times that some perks are not as extravagant as at some other companies and travel policies (hotel allowances during business travel) can seem stingy.

Fyber Response
August 28, 2019 –
Thank you for your review. We always strive for feedback and improvement of our environment and ask it from our employees on a regular basis. Based on the feedback we receive from our employees, we hear the opposite. We are sad to see your feelings are not the same. Our Berlin employees are engaged, happy to come to work, enjoy the new office, the benefits, and the vibes. The people managers recently had a thorough training which was very successful according to the feedback we received. We care about the team and invest a lot not just in the facilities and the benefits but also in strengthening our managers and equipping them with all the skills needed. The company's direction is very clear and promising, with our new and innovative product Fyber FairBid.”
