I worked at GE Capital full-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

When GE Capital really wants to do something they usually win. Unmatched capabilities in financing assets where GE has product line (Aircraft, Power, Energy). Smart and energized people with integrity.

    Cons

The former GECC folded its tent a year or two too soon. Regulatory oversight and SIFI classification slowed down the overall GE Company.

I worked at GE Capital full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

    Best minds in the country.

    Cons

Too much focus on STEM and thus sales positions are staffed by an engineer who can tell a joke, for the most part. Business survives in spite of itself.

I have been working at GE Capital full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

When expanding offered fantastic benefits, and hired people with good pay from Wall street. Post dispositions the outlook is rather dim. Then again, it was great while it lasted. Good company, good people.

    Cons

Very entrenched internal recruitment for senior talent. Harder for outsiders to get into the management track. But a strong corporate ethos and camaraderie.

I worked at GE Capital full-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

I was at this company for over 16 years and to say that I learned a lot is an understatement. They invest heavily on people who perform and the talent of persons you work with and for is usually above par.

    Cons

Regulation and compliance environment has recently created a culture where employees, specially management have a CYA attitude. Processes became increasingly cumbersome and getting deals through was a major achievement. Value prop is tremendously challenged as the cost of funds is just off market- banks are just giving money away.
