I have been working at Gamesys full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

The owner, the board, and the perks. Lots of opportunity for progression. It's a fantastic place to work if you're in the right department.

    Cons

Middle management, lots of the company values trickle down from the top and stop there.

    Advice to Management

Try to be more like the owner and board.

I worked at Gamesys full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

For the most part, great people. It’s fun and exciting at times. The industry has a bad reputation but Gamesys can truly say they do there best to protect there players.

    Cons

Corrupt. No progression unless you’re willing to leave your morality at the door. Hard work doesn’t pay. Dedication doesn’t pay. Underhand conduct protected by and for the benefit of management does.

    Advice to Management

The rotten few are ensuring you’re losing good people and the bad taste is spreading through the company. Deal with the issues which are being reported to you! It’s unforgivable that you are fully aware of the problem people yet you turn a blind eye over and over again.

I worked at Gamesys full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

    Good atmosphere
    Fridays drinks
    Great parties
    Good bonuses
    Good people to work with
If you are junior is a good place to start your career

    Cons

Gamesys were doing it well till they started giving titles to people with no experience managing and even with the enough knowledge.
The best example is the huge CRM department . They are making a massive empire with zero career path (unless you are part of the BFF girls club). It’s frustrating ask for responsibilities and the capability to make decisions because that won’t happen till you will become one of the “Heads club” and right now the capacity is full.
“The rest” is ending like robots where everything is being automated and you can’t take any decisions or responsibilities. It’s a shame because there are good value people but they won’t let them grow.

    Advice to Management

Listen, listen and listen the “low” employee base as they really know what is going on. Seniority doesn’t make you the right person to lead/manage a department.
Trust in the value people and listen to them.
Stop making empires and help people to grow and build a decent career path.
Stop letting go value people because no one listen to them or they become tired begging to grow.
Right now, if you are an ambitious person is not the right place to be. Learn what you need and go to somewhere else to keep growing.
And Gamesys, stop and don’t let all this “bubble” destroy you.

I have been working at Gamesys full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Great flexible working and management care about staff.
Regular socialising with drinks, parties, huge breakout/social space. Lots of intelligent, fun people to work with.
The technology is interesting if you're on the right team, and you can move teams sometimes to try a new project.
Career progression is good, there are options and you can usually get training when you need it, although it seems to need a lot of time to approve so sometimes you get tickets very last minute and it's hard to plan.
    The location is the best!
Long term bonus plans are good, and there are lots of good benefits and perks.

    Cons

The company does not remove bullies, despite many complaints from many people. Lots of people have become very stressed due to a very small number of individuals, and some have had breaks to recover. But the bullies are still there.

There are performance reviews twice a year, but they use out dated methods and cause a lot of stress and unhappiness.

There are a lot of inefficiencies in the company, things take a lot longer than they should.

Salaries could be better. Pension is very minimal.

    Advice to Management

Senior managers should create a non blame culture . Have trust in your development teams and managers. Lead by example.

Remove bullies, they cause more harm than good.

Get rid of ratings and personal performance bonus. Replace with something motivational and useful.

I have been working at Gamesys full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

    - Strong emphasis on personal/professional development.
    - Competitive salaries/ bonus schemes/ benefits
    - Good work/life balance. Very humane working conditions.

    Cons

    - Some people in middle management positions are kept in spite of toxic behaviour, blatant incompetence, and numerous complaints. This can be demoralising for the people on the ground that keep this company afloat.
    - Design department consistently fail to deliver required assets and designs on time, significantly impeding workflow for dev teams. Nobody will argue this point because the head of design is extremely well connected.

    Advice to Management

Listen to people at the bottom, they can tell you what is impeding project delivery; and don't shoot the messenger.
