I have been working at Gap part-time

    Pros

Great for improving one's ability to work under pressure and prioritise tasks, employee discount, if resilient and passionate it is possible to climb up the ladder quite quickly

    Cons

Impossible to have a life out of work as the rota is only given two days in advance, management cares very little about staff and constantly puts pressure on them to hound customers

    I worked at Gap

    Pros

Friendly environment. Great employee discount. Very creative with visual displays. Tidy and advocate great customer service. Great company to work for if you want to learn more about the retail industry.

    Cons

Retail industry doesn't have a lot of flexibility. Required to work weekends bank holidays and late hours. Constant shift changing pattern. Not suitable for a 9-5 preference of working hours.

I have been working at Gap part-time for less than a year

    Pros

    - Lovely, friendly people who work there. Always willing to help you, not cliquey at all. - If you're an Xmas temp they'll do their best not to throw you in at the deep end and will try and train you at quiet times during the week. Also don't expect you to do everything at once, I wasn't till trained until my 3rd/4th shift and even then they make sure someone is with you so you're not on your own - Good pay compared to other retail companies - Good employee discount - 50% off regular price and 30% off promotion - If you're fully flexible they also offer more hours - Varied tasks each day - till/fitting rooms/customer service/putting out stock/helping with deliveries - Relaxed about work uniform, as long as it's 'GAP-esque' which means I can go to work in jeans and trainers without anyone batting an eyelid!

    Cons

    - Early mornings on delivery days - having to be in for 7am - Late nights on days towards christmas (closing 9:30pm) - Can take a while to learn how everything is folded but if you're a quick learner with keen eye for detail you'll get the hang of it!
