      Great pay and benefits

      Pros

HRA - very process driven (can be a pro or con), use of Workday for tasks, receive reference and visa letters through HR Inbox. Collaborate across EMEA, America and APAC. Good working environment, culture is developing positively. Benefits and pay are very good, Vitality private health (includes tons of benefits), dental insurance, good maternity pay, pension is double up to 8%, 2 cafes on site, gym for free at Egham. London office now offers virtual yoga and facilitates a lunch running club. Charity Match - will match whatever you donate to charities of your choosing

      Cons

Progression is unfortunately rigid and strict to be in seat for typically 2 years before promotion. Company is centered only around sales and money - corporate functions do not benefit from paid Christmas parties, summer parties, team building days, information is very top down.. you are 'told' information from team in America, same for HRP's. I wish they did more to help society, don't give enough budget for this. These activities are only associate driven.

      Great experience for new Graduates

      Jan 2, 2020 - Client Manager

      Pros

      - Structured, you know exactly what is expected of you and what you should do to succeed (everything is measured and KPI-ed to perfect) - Work environment and culture is young and dynamic and very international - Lots of opportunities to advance your career and move around the business - Good pay and perks (vitality health insurance, gym in office...)

      Cons

      - Very little flexibility in working remotely, or even to visit clients (which is very unfortunate since the CSM roles are heavily client facing) - Because everything is measured and metered the role very quickly becomes about quantity rather than quality (how many calls and clicks to engage clients rather than whether the CSM are actually delivery value to clients) - Very siloed task force can quickly become boring and repetitive - Locations is very bad, not only is it in the suburbs and outside of London but it is a 30 minute walk from station, so transport becomes extremely limited and expensive

      Pros

Fun work environment if you are placed in the right teams.

      Cons

Middle management lackluster, offices in the middle of nowhere, success depends on the territory you are aligned to.

      " A work in progress"

Aug 30, 2019 - Account Manager in London, England, England

      Business Outlook

      Pros

      - Fantastic new office location in Central London - Genuine access to C-level executives at some of the world's largest companies, a great opportunity for anyone that is looking to challenge themselves at the very sharp end of sales - A supportive and collaborative working environment. People are supportive and genuinely care about each others outcomes. This is true for the GBS (former CEB) part of the business at least. - Earning potential is very strong here versus other research/advisory sales roles. Gartner is a 100% sales driven company and the financial rewards are great in sales for those who are prepared to work for it. - For those who value structure and discipline, Gartner has a very clear sales identify and is very clear in terms of how to sell the proportion. New hires are put through a strict and lenghy onboarding where every element of the sale is deconstructed. Equally, this can sometimes seem stiffling for those that value more creativity and flair in the sales process.

      Cons

      - Gartner has a real challenge with diversity and inclusion. Leadership team from first line manager above overwhelmingly white men. This is more true for the GTS business (heritage Gartner) then GBS (heritage CEB) but is still a challenge that spans both businesses. This can be demoralising for women and people of colour hoping to progress within the organisation. - Gartner is a traditional sales culture in which money and rewards (incentive trips etc) are given a lot of emphasis. While this is not a bad thing necessarily, some of the rhetoric towards the sales team can come across a bit dated and out of touch with more modern sales people equally motivated by other things. - Gartner are still trying to work out how to return GBS (heritage CEB) to growth, and as such there are a number of associates under performing within that part of the business right now. New starters are failing at high rates, particularly on the new business side of the house. This is down largely to structural flaws around the GTM, recruitment, onboarding and value selling sales process.
