      Aspirational and Inspirational Company To Work For

      Pros

      Never before have I felt so psyched to work for a company than I have for Gather! Everything about this company feels so genuine, caring, and driven towards success. Not only do folks here clearly care about the product, they also wholeheartedly care for their employees and colleagues as well. It's an excellent proof of concept that the entire company works via Gather rather than having brick-and-mortar offices!

      Cons

      Nothing I've encountered yet! Every minor issue encountered is dealt with so quickly, effectively and collaboratively that they really don't warrant any mention.

      Pros

      Cool product with a lot of potential.

      Cons

      Very youthful founders with no prior work experience leads to a hectic and uncertain work environment. When things get tough, everything falls apart and there are no good communication pathways. In a recent layoff they handled everything extremely poorly including that they let go a high percentage of the queer staff on the second day of pride month.

      - community first company - product-led growth - company spreads a lot of love and joy into the world - managers are fantastic - CEO and founders are on top of things and not afraid to go into the weeds - Perks are dope! Doordash budget: $60/per week, Learning budget, wellness budget, insurance covered, remote work budget - company encourages people to become nomads and travel - people genuinely care about you - People are always working hard and skilling up - Company socials and lunches are super fun because Gather Experiences is a part of our product. We are the testers to new and cool Gather Experiences - people travel and hang out with colleagues/crash at colleague's home -- colleagues are genuinely friends and look forward to meeting each other - company has raised a good chunk of money for building the metaverse - very mission-driven - colleagues are all unique and smart - there will be many companies built on top of gather. many many possibilities will be unlocked

      Cons

      - Lots of moving parts, some late nights - There will be things you do not want to do, but that is in every job - Redefining remote work is challenging but exciting
