I worked at General Mills for more than 10 years

    Pros

Fewer and fewer.....nice campus, a few good people left. Always hopeful, they could turn it around...but won't happen. Really look at yourself in the mirror...do,you have the best talent.

    Cons

HR leadership is terrible and dishonest. Don't believe what they say and be very careful as they will terminate you if you have an opinion.

    Advice to Management

None...we've been giving it to you for years but you don't listen.

I have been working at General Mills full-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

Outstanding people -- smart, striving, collaborative. Excellent brands -- iconic, #1 or #2 position, decades of equity World-class resources -- expertise and assets in marketing, sales, product development, supply chain, etc.

    Cons

Tough industry at the moment -- consolidation, "grow by shrinking" mentality Not enough external thinking (or sourcing talent externally)

    Advice to Management

Free up more time for teams to think externally, be outside the office, and generate new ideas.

I have been working at General Mills full-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

Smart, engaging employees who want to win. Senior management intent on doing things the right way. The company is very well respected by customers, suppliers, NGO's (mostly), and shareholders.

    Cons

Challenging industry dynamics, with changing consumer preferences, and shifting retailer / distribution models. Matrix organization structure inhibits agility... too many people with a say, or with veto power.

    Advice to Management

Senior management has a hard time making critical trade-off decisions. They want to keep everyone happy.
