I have been working at General Mills full-time

    Pros

The culture is usually friendly, open and not overly competitive. There is a genuine compassion among colleagues

    Cons

The food industry stalwarts are in a bad place and General Mills isn't handling it well. They are finding it difficult to change their game plan in a new world

    I worked at General Mills

    Pros

Nice offices, great people, great brands and fantastic European support. Really lovely people to work with. Lots of opportunity to learn on the job.

    Cons

Ambitious growth plans, but no additional resources to enable success. Management are rude and grumpy and unappreciative of everyone's hard work. Not a lot of thanks!

I have been working at General Mills full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

Great products Generally focuses on development of people: some people have very rapid career progression Truly Values Lead business Strong Senior Management

    Cons

Culture can be a bit soft but it is changing Getting increasingly "Global" meaning it's losing touch in local market and you spend more and more of your time "stakeholding" people as opposed to doing useful work. Although not as bad as most big companies Can be a bit slow moving people through the business due to high staff retention

    Pros

GM is a really great business to work for, the people are friendly, open and accommodating. There is a great family feel, and leadership are open and easy to speak to.

    Cons

The cons are that there can be difficulties in progression as many people have been in their roles for significant periods of time.
