      - Was a great company and team, waste of time for last year

      Cons

      - Lack of Product Management vision, no idea about future of product, no idea about development, no idea about area and vision, wasting time and money - Team not motivated to work and misses requirements, and do what it thinks is needed needed - Delivery asks to complete timesheets, but does nothing. Couldn't bring QA lead for months and only speak stories to CEO's ears - Scrum Masters, 2 for small firm are a lot. All developers are frustrated. Clear waste of time and missing lots of skills - No experienced developer in company, all not more then 1 year working

      Pros

      Several members of management are great (Product, Engineering, Sales) Product apparently can do great things for world Remote working Staff in different places good for learning different culture

      Agree with another review - "CEO has no business education or experience, no commercial leadership" It is obvious in way company is run. Everything depend on CEO and COO's mood that day. COO (CEO's Wife) is a bully - it is her way or nothing Leadership lie to staff to keep them happy Agree with other review - "After [11] years the company is still not profitable and completely depends on private investment to survive" Direction and plan changes every 3 months and people made redundant at start of every year

It’s clear from some of the points you make that there has been a misunderstanding of the situation. For example, redundancies are not made at the start of each year. Genestack has been operating a viable, commercial operation for several years. Were you a current employee, I'd encourage you (and anyone at Genestack) to speak with us and explain your views, informally with your manager, or via our formal grievance process. This would allow us an opportunity to investigate, reply and/or address the specific issues you have and, should any issues be found, find solutions that work for both you and the company. As founder and CEO, I remain committed to making Genestack a great business. As part of this process, it’s important to ensure staff are encouraged to raise matters so we can investigate and address these promptly and appropriately, so that everyone has the best possible experience working with us.       Genestack is 9 years old and still far from profitability

      One of few PaaS focused on data management Based in Cambridge UK, great location for networking As first job in bioinformatics it can open the door to other jobs in the domain Some colleagues are great

      Cons

      CEO has no business education or experience, no commercial leadership CEO-centric instead of customer-centric After nine (9) years the company is still not profitable and completely depends on private investment to survive You will learn things that help you understand Genestack's technology, but you could have spent the same time learning big data and data science skills in more established, bigger and better managed companies. Ultimately you need a very good reason to join Genestack instead of one of the many alternatives at this level. And some of these alternatives are much younger than Genestack.
