I have been working at Geometry Global full-time

    Pros

Amazing culture and fun place to work at.

    Cons

Hard to get a pay rise once you're in there, so make sure you enter at the right price point that makes you comfortable.

"A role where you’ll always be worrying about job security due to a lack of clients and fear mongering from the top"

I have been working at Geometry Global full-time for less than a year

    Pros

A subsidised canteen. There are lots of nice, green plants knocking around. A fridge in the kitchen where you can pop your lunch in to keep it nice and cool.

    Cons

This is no creative agency - they’re only concerned about making the most senior people richer, while the ‘doers’ are left to work insane hours on terrible projects in what seems an endless loop of misery. It’s all about how many 0’s are in the bottom line. Overall, I can only describe it as cataclysmically demoralising, which leaves you questioning all of your decisions that you have made in your career, which led to you working here. They are propped up by one client who brings in 80% of their revenue. But this relationship is dwindling, so a merger is on the cards. This will bring redundancies, an even worse atmosphere…so on and so forth - you know the deal. Recent promotions have seen the heads of certain departments step into fictitious, made up roles to promote how well the women within the agency are doing and get a nice little article into Campaign magazine. Don’t get me wrong, I’m all for this, but they do it in a forced and fake manner where these lucky few do nothing to warrant such promotions. Geometry pride themselves on a great culture where the people are put first. Yet key people at the top couldn’t actually name 75% of the employees on the floor. Worked until 5am on a pitch? Don’t go expecting a lay in the next day. Another 9am start looms. You can only get a doctors appointment for 3 in the afternoon? Better try and self medicate. Flexible and understanding to their employees Geometry are not. Designers - you’ll have nothing to show for your time here in your portfolio. Account handlers - say you’ve worked at Geometry with their clients, and prospective companies will run a mile.

I worked at Geometry Global full-time for more than a year

    Pros

There were some interesting people working there and trying to get results

    Cons

I definitely wouldn't recommend working here. It's the most disorganised agency I've ever been in and you're not even expected to have an opinion. The top level people think that their puppet masters for terrible quality of work that never even sees the light of day.

I have been working at Geometry Global full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Flexibility (hours, location). Some amazing pockets of talent and expertise - if you are lucky enough to work with them.

    Cons

All pain No gain. Lack of retention policies. Talent not nurtured. Career progression, non existent. Rewarding and recognising success, a dream. Lack of transparency - top down decisions only. Absence (physical and professional) of leaders and managers / no way to build relationship aside from lip servicing them Complacency

"Too top heavy leading to uncreative work"

I worked at Geometry Global full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Diverse mix of people, in general people are nice and socialable. Great flexibility and freedom. Good prices for lunch at the canteen. Drinking occasions in the pub next door

    Cons

Too many politics. Too top management heavy - not enough people to actually do the work. Politics causing many talented people to leave and nothing is done to keep talent. The internal process is too admin heavy and too many steps which causes delay with 'real' work. No flexibility with booking resources. There was an ambiguous reason for the bar to close, this prevented the social mingling of people in the agency - leading to a more cold working environment. HR process is awful, new review template does not care about your needs and objectives to grow. There's bullying and many complaints about one particular high level management but HR and other management has not done anything to stop this from happening. No pay rise in 2 years, not even to match inflation and loss of spending power - no appreciation of work. TOO many 'art directors' who 'don't do design' and think they're creative directors. The agency needs more designers who can do and understand design!!
