I have been working at GlaxoSmithKline full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

    - Do more, feel better, live longer - the company mission is compelling
    - CEO is inspiring - saying what we need to do and making courageous decisions that will get us there
    - Improving our inclusive environment
    - Quality of committed colleagues who are values led
    - Total package is good
    - Career Opportunities

    Cons

    - Leaders are more performance than people led [hope this changes with review of leaders]
    - Benefits are static and not flexible for stage of career, needs etc
    - Flexibility is less than you would hope for in such a big organisation

    Advice to Management

    - Give better tech access to career and development [how do we enable people to move jobs and learn more easily?]
    - Keep making the decisions to invest in R&D and talk about them more
    - Modernise your package and make it more flexible
    - This is a cool company - ensure each leader knows what that means and they live it day to day

I have been working at GlaxoSmithKline full-time

    Pros

With large functions for just about every area of human knowledge (R&D, sales, IT, Finance, Marketing, HR, Legal, Manufacturing, Compliance, etc), there is always more to learn and the possibility of moving in all directions, in any number of areas where you have some skills and want to develop further

    Cons

The enormity of the company and its operations make understanding something that anybody will ever achieve

Move forward with the new age of business and technology. A lot of heritage/baggage which doesn’t help at times.
