    Cons

slow to embrace and drive change at lower levels, risk averse and process heavy, although this is now changing under new leadership

I have been working at GlaxoSmithKline full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

A company with a positive purpose - to improve peoples lives.
A bright future with improving products.
International prodding tremendous room for career & personal growth.

    Cons

    Going through continuous re-structuring.
Cultural change with new leadership trying to bring a more FMCG behaviour into Pharma business.

    Advice to Management

Weed out those leaders who's agenda is self promotion, support those leaders trying to develop their people - human capital needs much greater attention.

I worked at GlaxoSmithKline full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Great people on the whole, nice culture and working environment. Flexible working hours and opportunities for progression if you go after them.

    Cons

Huge organisation so you can just be a number, you need to drive your own career path, no one will do that for you. Had some terrible managers in my time there but also had a few great ones. Poor pay - lowest of the FMCG’s. Slow moving consumer goods company, driven by pharma processes so will always struggle to be competitive.

    Advice to Management

Pay better if you want to retain good people. Separate the consumer healthcare business from pharma if you want to be competitive.
