I worked at GlaxoSmithKline full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Good work environment, excellent perks and educational support

    Cons

Too many restructuring and too many regular change of plans which results from the reorganizations.

I have been working at GlaxoSmithKline full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Genuine dedication and commitment to diseases such as malaria and tuberculosis, for which there is a huge unmet medical need, but no commercial return.

    Cons

Re-organisation every couple of years. Continuous churn makes it difficult to get work done.

    Advice to Management

Stop re-organising. Every time there is a re-organisation happens, teams change, you lose momentum and therefore competitiveness. You lose staff and you lose institutional memory, which means you risk repeating the mistakes of the past.

I have been working at GlaxoSmithKline full-time

    Pros

Working for a great cause, to help people Do More, Feel Better, Live Longer. Diverse, collaborative and supportive global organisation.

    Cons

When I first started working at GSK (a long time ago), it had a very liberal and collegiate culture, almost not like a profit making business. Over the years, the commercial focus has become much sharper, and with it greater challenges in the day to day operations. But overall, this is to be expected, and it's still a great firm to work for.

    Advice to Management

Continue to value your and develop people, and give people the opportunity to stretch themselves.
