I worked at Gluru full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    - team and company is very supportive
    - never had so much interest from recruiters, Gluru has a great reputation in the research community and has been great to me. I was sad to leave but wanted to move back into academia - I'll be cheering them on on.

    Cons

    - early stage company specialising in research so the product time to market is longer

    Advice to Management

    - they were very supportive of me and really cared. My advice is to keep doing what they are doing - the underlying technology was ground breaking and at the point of leaving it looked like there was some real traction with their customers.

I have been working at Gluru full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Gluru has a very friendly environment, with flexible working culture and always sporting team mates. Senior management doesn't manage you, instead leads you towards to the company goal that is shared and adopted by everyone in the team. Entire team is the best at what they do and works and have fun in harmony.

You do stuff that actually matters for the world, developing cutting edge artificial intelligence technology, contributing to the innovation in the area and applying it to real life problems.

    Cons

Business goals and OKRs can be ambiguous from time to time. However, the management team tackles with this in an inclusive way, incorporating and communicating with everyone in the team in a democratic way.

I worked at Gluru full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    - Work-life balance (The company has a very flexible approach to working from home, taking time for doctor's appointments etc.)
    - R&D is very research oriented (e.g.reading groups, writing papers, working on beating the current state of the art etc.) without pressure on writing production code
    - Management is exceptionally friendly, understanding and supportive
    - Regular opportunities for social events (including a trips abroad!)
    - Working next to smart & knowledgeable people
    - I started getting double the attention from recruiters a year after joining Gluru

    Cons

As with any startup, this is a fast-paced environment so it requires adaptability from employees. Priorities can change rapidly especially in an area where new techniques and problems constantly come to the surface.

    Advice to Management

    Keep up the good work!
