    Pros

    I think it is always very easy to post negative reviews on websites like this subsequent to leaving an employer, it always seems that the negative memories really do stick in your mind when you look back, rather than remembering the good times which some employees perhaps take for granted at Gocompare.com. The atmosphere in the office is very relaxed and the majority of members of staff are always happy to liaise with each other to resolve problems and issues that arise. Gocompare.com and its staff are always finding new ways to support their local community and are constantly finding new ways to give back, I really liked the monthly 'Goco Giving' which gives members of staff the opportunity to vote for a charity of their choice to receive a £1000 donation issued by the company. Gocompare.com also provide great benefits to all members of staff, along the way you will also be met with a variety of quirky, fun and creative ways of bringing the whole company together, to put it short this is a very unique company which looks after all of its staff very well. Working at Gocompare.com was a real breath of fresh air in comparison to some of the previous companies that I have worked for.

    Cons

    I sometimes feel as if the company is trying to run before it can walk in relation to its goals against its training procedure, personally I think in areas where there seems to be a high turnover of staff, a thorough training procedure needs to be in place. In relation to that, I think 'High turnover of staff' can sometimes be used as an excuse, rather than addressing the real underlying problems in specific parts of the company. Sometimes website problems raised by certain departments are not always taken seriously, due to the nature of their roles, which isn't the best especially when looked at from a customer perspective.

    I worked at GoCo Group full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

    As cliched as it is, the people at gocompare really make it. A fun and often talented bunch who get stuck in, are not afraid of hard work and a bit of craziness. This is reflected in the culture which includes monthly celebration days, charity events and regular employee communications and events. Having a brand like gocompare on your CV is well known and many employers know of the company and its success. This is a real benefit when talking about your role and its impacts.

    Cons

    I joined gocompare because of the potential it offered. A start up with a lack of direction meant an excellent opportunity to create something special in the market place, be innovative and take risks. Unfortunately however the management and leadership were neither prepared to take this risk, nor professionally qualified to understand the commercial opportunities that change can bring. This was a huge frustration. In addition and despite the great work on culture, there is a dark undertone at gocompare. One which promotes favourites and overlooks genuine talent, dismisses strategy over tactics and doesn't have a true understanding of how to develop their people. Exemplified by brutal job cuts, dismissal of training requirements and an acceptance that bullying and mistreatment is an acceptable form of management. I genuinely hope that the new leaders are able to change this and make the requirements to build a professional and forward thinking company on which to build the brand and its plans for the future.

    Pros

    Mainly in the earlier days of the company. A good office environment, a sense of fun.

    Cons

    A company that as it became larger and more profitable also became an unpleasant place to be. Continual problems in IT became worse as new 'managers' were brought in. The last ones were the worst there and anywhere I've ever worked. This really was a case of upstairs/downstairs with the managerial clique seeming oblivious to what was going on in the company. Since being bought by Esure they seem to be running the staff down. Avoid!

    Pros

    most staff "on the shop floor" are very hap and friendly and will go out of there way to help you do your job better.

    Cons

    Promised the world, nothing ever came of it. I was always keen to develop my own skills, which I happily did. I was promised departmental transfers and the like, but was held back by own manager.

    Pros

    Great people who work here and good perks such as a birthday day off, pizza days, summer bbq etc. Makes the atmosphere great. Never get that Sunday night dread.

    Not much room to progress upwards only side wards into other areas of the business.
