I worked at Godiva Chocolatier full-time for more than 6 years

    Pros

Great people to work with from original Head office team to store team old and new.

    Cons

Senior management have zero vision now and let a jumped up TV Chef make the rules who scowls at everyone when she cant get her own way. This was once a beautiful boutique company with great leaders now turned into a supermarket low value brand inside and out with no strategy and poor leadership.

    Advice to Management

Show the chef the door and stop letting the talented people go as all that is happening is the brand is diluting away with people with no vision and low brand leadership skills.

I worked at Godiva Chocolatier full-time

    Pros

    Good location and free chocolate

    Cons

A really low sense of morale as a result of poor leadership in the head office which seems to be getting progressively worse. No credit for achievements or working over hours. Colleagues quick to point the finger and shift the blame when things don't go to plan. Lots of gossiping, high school style. No trust, constantly watching your back - a little like East Germany way back when. A number of poor business decisions...

I worked at Godiva Chocolatier full-time for more than 4 years

    Pros

There's zero structure, so if you end up with a relaxed manager, you can pretty much do everything you want.

    Cons

Where to start... - low salaries compared to the rest of the market - ridiculous company structure - zero benefits - they ask everything from you, without a single reward or a simple thank you - unprofessional - nerve wrecking - no work/life balance whatsoever

    Advice to Management

giving your employees mental breakdowns is not the way to build a company.

I have been working at Godiva Chocolatier full-time

    Pros

Always plenty of chocolate to go around. Some good benefits - pension, healthcare etc.

    Cons

The UK arm of the business has rapidly descended into madness in recent months. Toxic senior management in the marketing function has successfully poisoned the entire head office and destroyed all team spirit. Where there was once strong productivity. there is now only arguing, firefighting and political standoffs. Longstanding team members have left or are in the process of doing so. Projects and workloads have spiraled...
