I have been working at Godiva Chocolatier part-time

    Pros

Work environment is friendly and welcoming. Lots of informative training material to help you understand core and new products. It's part food and retail but, no one ever leaves the stores unhappy. Job stability based on your work performance.

    Cons

Subjected to mall hours and/or part-timer availability. Not much room for growth at retail level. You may get sick of chocolate.

I worked at Godiva Chocolatier full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Great colleagues where everyone is trying their best. Unfortunately, you have to expect loosing them as people are fired like trash, or quit after being totally exhausted from the stone age environment. Great ambitions for the brand despite the little achievement.

    Cons

    1) ZERO CAREER DEVELOPMENT PLAN Management just expects you to stay in your current position forever without salary increase, tuition to gain new competencies, job opportunities. It seems they thrive at creating a blur and complex environment in which you are never able to envision a future. Employees are expected to create their own plan without any guarantee of success or management support. 2) TOXIC WORK ENVIRONMENT Micro management across all business units. It seems every person cannot breathe live or move without the CEO's permission. None of the marketing projects can move if she doesn't agree on every single comma resulting in BU marketing managers to take no responsability, no decision, no balls even when they strongly disagree for their own markets. It creates a negative work environement where everyone criticizes the global marketing decisions but none of the senior managers has the gut to speak for themselves. As a lower ladder manager, you just end being totally annihilated, learning nothing and not working your brain off. 3) WORKLOAD IS NOT EQUALLY DISTRIBUTED Some people are swamped others seem to do nothing. 4) STONE AGE PROCESS AND IT Old people, old process old IT tools and software. 5) ABSOLUTE NO INTERESTS IN CSR OR ECO FRIENDLY PACKAGINGS To produce the chocolate heavy amounts of plastics are used for production, transportation and within the chocolates giftbox. Absolute no interest to at least try to find new consumer and future oriented solutions.

I have been working at Godiva Chocolatier part-time for less than a year

    Pros

Smaller boutiques, so you form close bonds with your coworkers; 40% employee discount; keepers of the chocolate, so you get to make someone's day or be a part of picking out the perfect gift; basically, you get to see the immediate impact you have on someone's day

    Cons

Valentine's Day, AKA the most stressful and chaotic day of the year in the chocolate business

  8. "Store Associate in Godiva (Hong Kong)"

    Former Employee - Anonymous Employee

I worked at Godiva Chocolatier part-time

    Pros

Easy job. Not much pressure and what you need to do is just to be familiar with the products and the POS system. During peak time, it may be a bit pressurised to handle a lot of customers.

    Cons

The salaries for no matter full-time or part-time employees are quite low in terms of store associate and working in other chocolate stores can be a better choice if you want a more acceptable salary.

    Pros

Making peoples day. Some of the other employees were ok. If the management had been more under control the job would've been better.

    Cons

Management, the way they talked down to you, no training, expected to be a perfect chocolate dipper. Some of the customers well..
