    Positive Outlook

I worked at Golin part-time for more than 19 years

    Pros

Great clients, inspiring people and a passion for doing things differently. A very special culture and openness to learn and change for the better which makes the world of difference - authentic commitment to equality in all its guises. I love this place and will continue to be an ambassador from the outside, as it continues to evolve and innovate.

    Cons

If you like an entrepreneurial, fast-paced environment, Golin is it.

    Advice to Management

An exciting time to be at Golin, some big new wins, great new hires, period of positive change in to be ready for future success.

I worked at Golin full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Apart from the top-management the team work very well together. You could call upon any of the senior team to help you out with anything. I developed a lot of great friendships from my time there.

    Cons

Before I left the culture had changed, with little strategic thought past revenue targets. Top management in general had little to no empathy or understanding of projects - often accepts crazy deadlines or scopes without consulting the team who'd ultimately have to deliver it.

    I worked at Golin full-time

    Pros

A big name and awards that bring in brands. Golin is its own best client. Decent benefits.

    Cons

A lack of leadership and communication. No sense of 'family' culture. Perhaps the company expanded too fast, but there seems to be a vacuum at its heart.

    Advice to Management

Appreciate your associates, support your managers, inject a little creative energy into your technology and corporate teams.

    Pros

Wonderful office with great people. Everyone was warm, helpful and eager to teach. Also, great benefits, and gender fairness too.

    Cons

Cannot think of any in particular!

I worked at Golin full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Good holiday policy. Pretty good work-life balance.

    Cons

The work is dull and uninspiring. The whole team was fairly miserable, with a real 'production line' attitude towards projects. Right now it seems there's little appetite from the senior management to change. So long as revenue targets are met, employee satisfaction stays secondary. Salaries are also extremely top-heavy, with little hope of progression for more junior members of staff.

    Advice to Management

Your staff are only as good as the opportunities you're giving them. Right now prospects are pretty poor, so I wouldn't expect talent to stick around unless that gets sorted out soon.

    I worked at Golin full-time

    Pros

If you like a drinking culture and a few token freebies then this is for you. They have so called 'unlimited holiday'. If you're lucky then you might be able to make the most of this.

    Cons

This is a PR company and their biggest client is themselves. They speak a good game, but in reality they have created a really toxic environment. They don't care about the work. They say they do, but they really don't. I don't know if this is lack of passion or actually just a lack of competence. Leadership lacks skill, understanding and transparency. They're hired like mascots rather than hard workers. Any...

    Advice to Management

Stop hiring arrogant mascot figureheads who talk about Gin more than their work. Stop living up to the stereotype of a communications who reward the ruthless, regardless of competence whilst the clever and hard working waste away in the corner.

    Pros

Inspirational MD Great brands to work on. Clear company identity and culture. Family feel Amazing socials Good promotional opportunities Best benefits in the industry

    Cons

Can be process heavy due to G4 model, they wont change that any time soon. Some people who have been there too long are very negative to work alongside and often bring the moral down.

    Advice to Management

Work together to show a unity, some teams operate in silos.

    Pros

Looks good on CV, will learn a lot from being so busy

    Cons

Works in silos, many employees in senior management roles are unsupportive and intimidating to younger members of the team - can be very unprofessional at times too.

    Advice to Management

Challenge senior management who are getting negative feedback from more junior members.
