I worked at Grant Thornton UK LLP full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    - multinational company
    - diversity
    - structured career progression (an employee would know how the next 5 years will look like for him/her)

    Cons

    - Wannabe "big 4"
    - long working hours
    - poor training
    - focuses on quantity over quality

    Advice to Management

A lot needs to be worked on and improved. Appropriate processes should be put in place for training in tax team. The work gone for review comes with points such as, "select box 12 not 15", but no explanation as to why. Unfortunately, the focus is primarily on the speed at which a task is done, rather than quality. Asking managers for help is usually followed by "just do the best you can, as quickly as you can". Asking co-workers gets you responses like "just select box 24, it'll come back with review points anyways". No one seems to know what they are doing apparently,

I worked at Grant Thornton UK LLP full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

A relatively good WLB, however this varies across teams. A comfortable office environment in a decent location. Easily commutable

    Cons

The CEO is driving her own agenda, and furthering her own personal profile at the expense of what the business really needs to grow. Good people are leaving because of the faux culture that is cultivated by senior leadership and the old boys
(though it just men that benefit here) club.

    Advice to Management

I would listen to what your people really want rather than the CEO who's media visibility has increase on the back of being told "we don't know who she is" when applying for the Top 20 Most Influential Women in the City

    Advice to Management

Stop the bullying culture, get rid of the incompetent people, cost jobs for what they really cost
