    Pros

Entrepreneurial business, lots of very clever individuals and you're given responsibility from the offset. Expanding and growing in the advisory business at a quick rate

    Cons

Despite the advisory business expanding quickly and closing the gap with the big 4, pay remains stubbornly below where it should be

    Advice to Management

Largely keep on doing what you're doing! Starting to close the gap to the big 4 and raising the profile of the business in the market. Pay needs reviewing

I have been working at Grant Thornton UK LLP full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

    * Nice location, a park nearby
    * Several good take-away places nearby

    Cons

    * Corporate to the core (in a bad way)
    * Inexperienced managers (most of them are fired from big 4)
    * No career opportunities
    * Almost no training
    * Lots of work but due to flaws in scheduling it seems to be way more work than there is (consider using software instead of school-leaver level managers)
    * Some teams are facing racism issues and HR tries to ignore/silence these talks.

    Advice to Management

    * Investigate and fire most of the middle level management
    * Update software to something resembling this century
    * Instead of relying on managers with suboptimal intelligence - adopt resource planning software
    * Focus on diversity & inclusion
    * Reduce the number of school leavers that you are hiring, it's good to have some of them but try to have only minority.

I have been working at Grant Thornton UK LLP full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

There's a great culture with partners more approachable than those at the Big 4. They also encourage a good work life balance with "agile working" (working from home etc) if needed.

    Cons

Roles with a national remit can lead to frustrating career prospects. A lot of the firms focus is on London, so if you don't work there there's little chance of promotion or bonus.

    Advice to Management

Senior management in London who do not work with people in the rest of the UK on a day to day basis should not be able to influence performance reviews of those outside London.

Lack of face to face contact with clients
Holiday entitlement slightly below average but can claim TOIL
Separate offices for partners feels segregated

    Negative Outlook

I have been working at Grant Thornton UK LLP full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

    City centre location. Free fruit.

    Cons

Timed on how long it takes you to do tasks (complexity not taken into account)
Wage - paid peanuts for doing the same level of work as an auditor.
This is not an Admin role! You're better off working in Tesco for more money.

    Advice to Management

Learn from the big companies and reward the staff with a fair wage and more bonuses. The odd bottle of cheap wine is an insult!
