I have been working at Greene King full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Wonderfull culture in the company with a genuine desire to make people matter , some companies talk about this a lot but don't deliver (Greene King does)

    Cons

Its a big company now, so its lost a small amount of its personal touch and getting things done can be a bit of a task jumping through hoops

    Advice to Management

Keep on doing what you do and don't loose the focus on making people matter and caring for the teams

I worked at Greene King part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Enjoyable colleagues. Split tips are a real bonus. Flexible part-time arrangement.

    Cons

General managers under heaps of pressure to hit unrealistic targets while encouraged to cut work-hours of employees. Human Resources are stretched to the max.

I have been working at Greene King full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    The staff discount of 33%

    Cons

To many to list, but one example:
The law is that employees are entitled to a break of 20 mins if working a 6 hour shift. This doesn't always happen. If it does it will normally happen AFTER you have already worked 6 hours. If you don't have a break, the system automatically docs 20 mins pay anyway. So, not only do you work during your break, but you won't get paid for it. Classy.

    Advice to Management

Would be a waste of breathe - all they care about is cutting costs and maximising sales. Looking after employee's welfare is only an afterthought and only happens on paper.

I worked at Greene King full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

I got payed the minimal wage.

    Cons

Standards getting low. They not invest anymore. I ve been working at festive period alone in whole a restaurant. No breaks, no food for 6-7 hours shift, not at all.

    Advice to Management

If you don't invest you get no income! Please care at least a little bit and if there are costumer complaints don't yell the stuff to deal with. It's cheap.
