I worked at Greene King part-time

    Pros

Good for student life, was usually able to get a decent amount of hours

    Cons

Awful pay for under 25's, rotas only coming out weekly (on Sunday evenings), minimal training, lifting crates up several flights of stairs

    Advice to Management

Listen to and trust staff, keep the busy Saturday nights fun for those working. Equal pay for everyone of the same level

I worked at Greene King part-time

    Pros

    Got paid weekly.
    Fun team mates

    Cons

Austerity based business management strategy meant relentlessly working on a skeleton staff. Poor staff morale. Management would wind up in trouble as not enough staff were employed to run the kitchen properly due to the area managements insistence on constantly cutting the budget.

    Advice to Management

Be more assertive with area management when their demands mean the business cannot run properly.

I have been working at Greene King full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Organised online system to see pay, absence requests and more. Site managers and area managers are all friendly and approachable in my experience.

    Cons

Too profit orientated - seems like they're finding every little way to increase profits without considering the effects on their staff e.g. reducing the work force to save on wages despite sites being busier than ever.

    Advice to Management

Weigh up the benefit in profits against the effect on the workforce - a small increase in profits may not be worth upsetting employees.
