Pros

Health insurance benefits are very good.

Cons

Internally, it's a mess. Unlike any other library system. The wrong people were promoted to upper management and the two best managers left consecutively within months of each other. It's been understaffed for at least a year and they struggle to fill positions. Every decision made is based on what works best for the decision-makers, and never once consider the community. Managers are notorious for micromanaging. Too many staff have overstayed their welcome and get away with barely any work because the longer they stay, the bigger the pension they get. If you have an offer from another library, take it!

Difficult and toxic

Pros

There is no question that working at Greenwich Library has perks. Excellent salary and benefits. The collection might be the best public library collection on the East Coast for a community this size.

Cons

There is a toxic atmosphere. Worse, the administration facilitates this atmosphere. There are folks in positions in administration that are unqualified and morale is in the toilet.

Nice area. Beautiful Library space. Lots of opportunities to participate and plenty of resources. Lots of good people at all levels.
