RecommendsPositive OutlookNo Opinion of CEOI worked at Guardian Media Group full-time for more than a year
Pros
Dream job on a mission to ensure liberal news is available to all. GMG has so much amazing stuff going on in the background. Really open and transparent culture so you find out about all the projects. Work of The Guardian is vital and must be protected at all costs. Worked there while David Pemsel was the CEO, great guy really open and friendly, as well as the other C-suite. I left only due to a selfish pursuit to advance my career as there isn't much progression but the culture at The Guardian is unmatched.
Cons
GMG has had to become more commercial, which sadly means less friend to socialists. Flash hired rather than internal promotion.

RecommendsNeutral OutlookI worked at Guardian Media Group for less than a year
Pros
Best for original investigative journalism and culture content (RIP: The Guide).
Cons
Pitches really depend on relationship with editor (and their mood that day). But that's normal. Not the highest rates, but respectable. Diversity could be better - lots of middle class voices dominate, but again, that's the demo.
