I have been working at Guy's and St. Thomas' NHS Foundation Trust part-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

The Trust is both big and friendly. People, including the top management, live by the Trust Values and really do put patients first. There is always something new going on and there are lots of opportunities. Being in the middle of London is also great. It is a good feeling to work for an organisation that you know is leading the way in innovations in patient care.

    Cons

The cost of living is high in London, so a lot of people have to travel a long way to get to work. The IT is not as up to date as it could be, so that can be frustrating.

I have been working at Guy's and St. Thomas' NHS Foundation Trust for more than a year

    Pros

Excellent healthcare standards Specialist teams that really know their stuff Access to great resources Forward thinking Great patient care Hardworking staff that go over and beyond Amazing views and location right in the heart of London

    Cons

Large hospital so sometimes not as personable Some people who work here can get a bit caught up in the name Some management structures are still very old-fashioned and not as open to growth and change High turnover in some departments - reflects a level of job dissatisfaction for common reasons

I have been working at Guy's and St. Thomas' NHS Foundation Trust full-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

Good working team, training, dedicated staff who ensure that the engineering services are available 24/7 so that patient care is not affected

    Cons

To much reliance on too few people leading to additional pressure on staff. Too many poor contractors handing over poor quality work to the hospital who are following poor quality designs. Too much bureaucracy in the NHS.

I have been working at Guy's and St. Thomas' NHS Foundation Trust full-time

    Pros

My team were really great to work with. A great sense of purpose, working to improve patient care.

    Cons

Often difficult to make changes as meetings tend to be face to face, which is not always convenient. Departments are often silos, and can sometimes be difficult to work together.

I worked at Guy's and St. Thomas' NHS Foundation Trust full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Great hospital environment, great interest in patient care. There are some great managers that work here while others are quite lacking. Good opportunities to move around within the trust.

    Cons

Staffing and management issues, overworked nurses and doctors. At times the acuity of patients to nurse ratio can be unsafe. Low pay for the amount of work and stress required.

I worked at Guy's and St. Thomas' NHS Foundation Trust full-time for more than 8 years

    Pros

The people. Over worked like everywhere in public healthcare but they really care about patient care. Good in-house training. One of the best NHS Trusts to work for.

    Cons

Workloads are high as the NHS is underfunded and undermined by the current Government.
