Pros
Rewarding work at the centre of British policy and politics. Working with very smart people. Support and training opportunities. Always something to do.
Cons
Huge turnover and changes in teams, which means hard to get expertise in one role. Little time available to reflect and deepen understanding of policy area. Low pay vis à vis private sector.
Advice to Management
Tackle turnover issue and encourage people to do more creative thinking.

Pros
In particular for people interested in politics, the work is very engaging being at the heart of government. Your exposure as a junior is the kind which would take you 20 years to have in the private sector. Amazing work/life balance through use of flexi-leave (essentially you get every minute worked, back in holiday)
Cons
Sometimes quite slow pace and so some people may not like it if they are used to constant high pace atmosphere.
Advice to Management
you're doing a good job!
