Pros

Very fun and fast pace place. I really loved the culture and the people there. I learn a lot during my time and wish I could stay longer, but because of unforeseen circumstances I had to resign. The team was very understanding and supportive. The managers are very approachable and kind, always ready to help and very hands on. Very honest people and really nice to work with.

Cons

So much to learn, very fact paced

Office Space Sequel

Pros

Generally good coworkers. Nice locations.

Cons

When Office Space came out, the running joke was TPS reports and cover sheets. A modern sequel could easily be based on HME: town halls, morale awards, endless Teams meetings, e-learning, Wheelchair School, and “Coffee with Robert” videos, Scrapbooks, Tech/Sales/Admin days. The list goes on. In my experience, I’ve never seen so much of a workday devoted to corporate self-congratulation and motivational messaging. It often felt like having a case of the Mondays every day while sitting through talking points that didn’t seem especially connected to the work people were actually there to do. Then there are the uniforms. The shirts appear to be cut unusually short, which leads to some… memorable moments around the workplace. At times it feels like the company could rebrand itself as the “fat, hairy gut company of BC,” because those shirts don’t leave much to the imagination. It’s an oddly bold uniform design choice. Another challenge was the expectation to come into the office even when there was little or no work to do. Spending hours at a desk waiting for something to happen doesn’t exactly inspire peak productivity. All that said, if Mike Judge ever decides to revisit the modern workplace, he might want to take a look here. The material practically writes itself.

Most disorganized company I've ever worked for

Pros

Nice coworkers Nice facilities Free coffee and pop They pull out all the stops for orientation

Cons

Extremely disorganized, yet extremely dictatorial. Policies and procedures for everything, but nothing is documented and there are no up-to-date policy guides, you have to learn everything from someone over teams or be forwarded an email. Mixed messages and contradictory yet unrealistic expectations, no clear job duties as everyone is technically expected to be able to do everything. Only 2 week vacation. Entire company expected to go on lunch at 12:00 and come back at 12:30 like clockwork, you will be reprimanded if you're 2 minutes late. Internal customer service is out of control - pressure from management to make internal communications bubbly and happy. Everyone that succeeds here is throwing back energy drinks all day.
