I worked at HP Inc. full-time

    Pros

HP's global footprint makes it unique in allowing you to have a BIG impact.
Senior leaders are quality execs who've proven their mettle.
Lots of opportunity to contribute given the size of the businesses.

    Cons

It's a big company...there are politics you need to be aware of and manage.
Also due to size, can become insular. requires a lot of energy just to deal with internal stuff, so it can prevent you from being as plugged in as you need to be with the industry at large.

    Advice to Management

Stay grounded in what truly will deliver value. Some of it super cool (3D printing!) some is just disciplined execution on an enormous scale. Either way, celebrate everyone who contributes to that success.

I have been working at HP Inc. full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Ethical, Highly engaged in Diversity & Inclusion. The HP Way defined way back at company formation provides the backbone of the ethos to do the right thing, attract talent based on talent - regardless of politics, religious, gender, sexual orientation, racial or any other discrimination. This flows direct from the CEO.

Treated as adults and expected to work hard and professionally.
Freedom to make decisions and then be responsible for those decisions.
Company value to create technology that makes life better for everyone everywhere is key.
Proud to be working for HP Inc.

    Cons

some processes are unnecessarily complex but that is a hangover from the larger company before the split 2 years ago. its being addressed albeit slowly.

I worked at HP Inc. full-time

    Pros

    Still some great people left.....

    Cons

A lot of great people been made redundant.
Way too many Managers and Directors, some of whom don't care a damn about their people.
    Extremely poor benefits and salary.
Ridiculous politics and power hungry, empire building directors.

    Advice to Management

Stop treating your employees like sheep.

I have been working at HP Inc. full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

You get treated like an adult - you get to manage your own time - the work getting done is all that matters
Excellent people - extremely understanding and supportive - you will have a 'work family'
Industry leading thinking on matters such as diversity, sustainability - it isn't just talk
Excellent company values - I've never known someone to not do the right thing
Lots of options to do lots of different jobs - it is why people stay here for a long time
Excellent senior leadership team - truly the best in industry

    Cons

Sometimes the location strategy can be limiting - e.g. if you want to do a global or regional job but are not in a hub, you may struggle (assuming you are not up for moving). Although this does depend on the situation - exceptions can and have been made.
Compensation can be a little bit on the lower end
And unless you are very senior, expect all flights to be strictly economy.

    Advice to Management

Maybe the widen the number of locations where folks can do region / global jobs.

I have been working at HP Inc. full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

I have 18 years service which speaks for itself. I love the companies ethics, culture & diversity and in my case flexible working. A truly caring company which starts at the top with its Executive Leadership Team.

    Cons

I think since the split many of the cons have disappeared. Our Growth Mindset concept means we are not afraid to bring new ideas to the table and reinvent ourselves.

    Advice to Management

Just continue to review and improve some of the burdensome internal admin processes. We have made great strides in 2 years but more can be done.
