    Pros

Part time hours, amazing team had plenty of fun in store, great Christmas party allowance, great place to work part time

    Cons

No cons I enjoyed it here, as a part timer gave me opportunity to be a car parts fitter which was a bit different

I have been working at Halfords part-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Reasonable colleague discount. Good team feeling amongst colleagues. Hours will usually be more than contracted, good if you want this.

    Cons

Low staffing levels. Too much asked of colleagues, never enough time or colleagues to complete tasks. Hours will be more than contracted, bad you don't want this. Company e-learning poor and usually in your own time. Company systems and ideas antiquated with little hope of change. Colleague and store KPI's are outdated. No progression for Part time workers. No route through lower management for improvement suggestions or ideas.

I worked at Halfords part-time for more than 8 years

    Pros

Good discount, convenient hours and location with good parking. Good facilities and environment at Support Centre. Has Costa Coffee and canteen. Good IT and Wi Fi.

    Cons

Cannot be promoted if part-time. Under constant pressure to achieve (your bosses) target, even though your not the one collecting the bonus. Lack of appreciation for long service - staff discarded on a whim or if a new boss wants to change the team.

I have been working at Halfords for less than a year

    Pros

If you are a fitter, you get to work on a varied amount of cars. Good tips off customers, but aren't allowed to take them as could get sacked!

    Cons

Colleague discount is Rubbish!, 25% off all in store and 15% off Tech Forced to do overtime, Never have weekends off if you are part time Get moaned at for not accepting overtime Get less breaks than what it says on your rota Get sent to the office if you take too long on a fit, "work on pace"!

    I worked at Halfords

    Pros

Good part time job to have along side studying, plenty of overtime available perfect first job to have, learn lots of skills whilst working

    Cons

Pay - higher trained fitters were given same wage as staff less trained No formal training, was thrown in at the deep end, although some training was beginning to be introduced when I left.

    I worked at Halfords full-time

    Pros

Some great benefits for part time colleagues and some very committed and passionate colleagues. Used to be a great business to work.

    Cons

Former CEO Matt Davies made some great changes for colleagues within the business but unfortunately he also brought in some senior leaders who never really understood the business and are more concerned with share options and protecting each other than driving real performance within the business. Challenge anything and you don't believe in the plan rather than listening to colleagues who really drove the business in previous years. Performance reality it is makes considerably less money now than it did 6 or 7 years ago yet senior leaders champion their achievement of being a Sunday times top 25 company to work yet colleague turnover is still really high. So many KPIs with the latest classic being how many e receipts a store can achieve.
