Pros

You get to work with the richest families in the Bay Area.

Cons

Too many to list. For starters, management has zero appreciation of work that associates and analysts put in. Working environment is toxic and emotions have to be hidden from managers because everyone is uncomfortable. One recurring thing I've seen is that associates consistently get thrown under the bus by Managing Directors. They're used as a scapegoat because they're "experienced enough to know why they're wrong". In addition, they're constantly overworked and close to burning out. Not sure how things can be so bad at such a small company.

Pros

They have “perks”, like free food and Uber but in the end, really gimmicky things to make you overlook the more important things, like work culture, work responsibilities, etc. Can learn the same excel skills that youtube taught me.

Cons

Pay is crazily below standard for cost of living in either San Francisco and NYC... many office politics and brown nosing at play in this work culture. If you are not really a person to fake a smile every day then this really isn’t for you. It also isn’t for you if you want to do more meaningful work than repetitive data entry work. You will learn your full responsibility in about 3 months and that’s it. Don’t expect for them to give you any skills to grow with or worth putting on your resume (besides excel skills that can honestly be learned elsewhere). I promise you, you’re not missing out on much if you don’t work here; their employee retention rate is low for a reason. Constant rotation of employees every year, that’s a huge red flag for any employer. They’re committed to keeping costs low and would rather hire a fresh college graduate at low pay to do work nobody wants to do (in all honesty, this job does not require any college degree). I thought it was just me who felt tricked with job position description. Turns out the majority of analysts felt that way too.
