Pros

Unparalleled company culture and unparalleled product that we offer...honestly can't get better than that. Everyone is driven, accepting, and willing to lend a hand. Even though I'm a remote employee, I feel very connected and in tune with my team and the whole company.

Cons

Honestly no real downsides...we're moving at a great pace and carving a space in the market so while this yields lots of work, we all pitch in and get it done.

Pros

Immediate engineering team and technical leadership were incredible. Well designed product. Early days company culture and vibe was extremely positive and created a lot of buy-in

Cons

No medium or long term strategy Reactionary/firefighting approach Happily burn out, gaslight and undermine people Lack of sales coordinating with product management - 50% of what we built was never fully rolled-out or delivered the deals or values promised Poor pay and equity

Thanks for your feedback, Looks like you recently left the company but have been with the company for a while, The mission and strategy of the company has not changed since the early days and is consistently communicated to the team. We've always had an 'open-door' approach where we would be happy to have a dialog with you or anyone if you don't understand what is happening or need more clarity. At times we need to drive towards a common goal and this might mean that not everyone is onboard to put in the same amount of effort or are able to meet the demands of what is required. This would be the burn out and undermining you have experienced. A different perspective to your point about the "lack of sales coordination" is... 50% of what you help build did get rolled out! I think that is a massive plus. Focus on the positives. Company building is a team sport and we don't get it right 100% of the time. Sometimes we win, sometimes we don't. We just have to keep on keeping on. I hope that you can take the lessons learnt in your time with us and help the next company you join. And if there are things you don't like, take control and be the change you want to see happen.

First, I thank you for the review and feedback. Transparency and candor is something that I value a lot and so, I'm glad you posted this. Allow me to comment on your feedback. If you were part of HappyCo for over 3 years, you would know that people are the most important thing to us at HappyCo. We spend enormous amounts of time and energy being transparent, authentic and thinking about the well-being of each and every HappyCoer. Since founding the company, we’ve always had a high bar for performance. As the company has grown, that has meant that the expectation and level of performance also increases. (Eg. What we did 12-24 months ago doesn’t work today). And growth is stressful. “Kaizen” is one of our core values. With continuous improvement comes many moments of discomfort. It is my hope that every HappyCoer can persist and grow through the discomfort whilst continuing to perform at a high level. In spite of that, I recognize that not everyone can perform at peak performance with that speed at which HappyCo has grown in the last 12-24 months. I, for one, acknowledge that there is constant stress to perform and it's not a place to coast and collect a pay check. (There are many places that pay much better and have less pressure). The focus on the bottom line has not changed since founding the company over 10 years ago. We've always been focused on the bottom line. That is because to be a great company means to drive customer value. And the result of customer value is revenue. We all work hard at HappyCo to make the best products for our customers and make their lives that much better. The focus on the bottom line has never changed, but the intensity to get to the next level for the company has increased. I hope you find a place that allows you to shine and aligns with what you need in your stage of your career/life. I'm going to miss working with you and thank you for your journey with us at HappyCo. Take care.
