I worked at Harley-Davidson, Inc. full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Good people, great brand that drives the business, lots of autonomy in your function. Company promotes equal opportunities for everyone.

    Cons

No mentoring process. No one really cares about what you do. Too many restructurings. I had 5 supervisors in 5 years. Sometimes promotions are offered for no obvious reasons...

I have been working at Harley-Davidson, Inc. (Less than a year)

    Pros

Colleagues very open to questions and genuinely care about each other's success.

    Cons

It's expensive to live near the office; better have a few roommates.

    Advice to Management

Have the internship function like a traineeship, leading into long-term opportunities.

I have been working at Harley-Davidson, Inc. full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Exciting product to work on. H-D's existing platforms are as exciting to work on as the new electric bikes that have been announced.

    Cons

Downsides...the competition is high for promotions. The company employs top talent and therefore you have huge competition to get to the next level

    Pros

Coworkers really made my job easy. Requardless of the disfunction of management .

    Cons

Due to the company closing. Everything thing was o disfunctional. No concern for the emplyees. Employees like myself was expecting to retire in a few years. Our dreams where dashed.

I have been working at Harley-Davidson, Inc. full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Relaxed and mostly self-managed work environment

    Fun product to work on

    Cons

Benefits continue to be eliminated and work continues to grow due to international expansion (more work in other time zones)

There has been roughly one major strategic or organizational change, including layoffs, each year over recent years

    Advice to Management

The yearly changes within the individual departments to meet the (relatively) consistent goals of the company seem haphazard and uninformed to anyone who has been through more than one or two. Perhaps it would be best to allow these changes time to integrate into the culture and operations of the teams before being abandoned.
