I worked at Hawes and Curtis full-time

    Pros

fast paced and fun with great colleagues and management. Really good incentives that made you want to sell well, nice sense of friendly competition in the store to achieve targets, free shirt at the end of the week if UPT and Atv were met. Good staff discount - could be better as some companies get a free allowance but can't complain at 50-80% off. The products in general are of high quality which makes them easier and more fun to sell, Curtis lines and other creative stock make the brand feel different to other overly formal menswear brands, summer stock in particular was really cool, bold shirts you can wear to parties or barbecues which is nice. Almost all the staff ive met are fun, lively people, have made some good friends from h&c. I learnt so much and genuinely look back on my time there fondly.

    Cons

Worked at a couple different stores - Westfield was noticeably quieter and did get boring at times even during Christmas period - stockroom is also miles away which is annoying. System of ordering stock for customers online is poor - often having to tell a customer to go to a different store or buy it online themselves. Unlike moss bros or other competitors where you can sell it directly from warehouse stock. This sometimes leads to loss of stock/holding stock to exchange that sort of thing. like any other retail job, unsociable hours - especially Westfield.
