I have been working at Her Majesty's Revenue & Customs full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

I work in the IT Department at Benton Park View. Pros - flexitime, great IT kit, some travel (get to see other offices), fantastic people to work with (old school Civil Servants and newbies from the private sector make it a very interesting mix), Senior Management sit with and engage with all staff, gift voucher rewards where you can nominate helpful colleagues, excellent public transport links if you live nearby, lots of opportunities for promotion or transfer.

    Cons

Very very limited payrise, if any. No onsite parking (there's a 14 year waitlist), so the nearest car park is a 20 minute walk away. If you get there after 08:30am there are no spaces (so even though flexi working, there's no opportunity to come in later than that unless you use public transport) which is a nightmare if you live further away.

I have been working at Her Majesty's Revenue & Customs full-time

    Pros

    Work with wonderful team members.

    Cons

Managers who are untrained and unqualified and then expect you to do the job. When you go to them for advice they keep referring you to someone else. Excessive amount of micro management.

    Advice to Management

Listen to your staff and treat them with respect. Educate managers in the areas they are supposed to manage.
