      Pros

H&B offers an excellent first impression to would be managers. Product training is very in depth and all new starters must mandatorily pass their healthy start qualification to pass their probation. This is easily achievable. 25% employee discount (50% discount for 1 week in December) Commission on Magazine sales £50 sales bonus for achieving quarterly sales targets. Company incentives are some of the best I’ve ever seen, holidays, gift vouchers and prizes on offer regularly.

      Cons

Training is 100% computer based and doesn’t account for different learning styles. Opportunity to increase your salary by completing advanced qualifications. Lone working, I lone trade for a minimum of 4 hours each day. When a store manager or colleague is on holiday the store is only allowed to make use of 60% of their hours (24 hours for manager) to fill the managers shifts. This is especially difficult during promotion changes and store layout moves. This only further increases the amount of lone trading from 4 hours a day to 8 hours. High amount of labour turn over for a company that invests so much in training only for people to leave Management salary is not competitive at its base level.

      Pros

The customers are brilliant. Other then that nothing.

      Cons

Higher management Area managers are crap, rude, and ignore everything you have to say. Lone trading No security what so ever Area managers argue about your safety and how it's okay to leave young females alone in a building late at night Take your money and hold it and refuse to give it back until threatened. To many pro Mo's Had missing pay every month and took weeks to track down. No fire alarm tests

      Pros

it's fairly well paid for being retail work training can be interesting

      Cons

lone trading far too much which affects sales and then you don't hit the high targets given expected to do far too many tasks on a daily/weekly basis, given no extra time or staff to do tasks so management are constantly under pressure salaried managers are expected to work more than their contracted hours for no extra pay
