    Pros

Fully flexible shifts from a 0 hour contract, meaning its a really good job to have for students wanting to get a bit of money
    Employee benefits of 50% off

    Cons

Not always promised shifts every week, however not always bad as there is the opportunity to cover other peoples shifts. Sometimes can be stressful in a very busy environment

I worked at Hollister Co. part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    - Completely flexible. Shifts are done on a 2 week basis, if you cannot attend a shift last minute there are loads of staff who will be willing to do it for you.
    - Great working environment. A complete buzz with great people.
    - Training provided.
    - Uniform provided.
    - Staff discount.

    Cons

    - Very selective on who they employ. You have to suit the brand. You have to have the look. If you don't expect some snobbery. They do not adhere to equal employment opportunities.
    - Salary is very low for Central London retail - especially high end.
    - You have to say those tag lines. If the manager catches you not doing it ... oh dear, it's not worth the wrath so just say them.

    Advice to Management

    - Really get to know all of your team. Don't choose your favourites and just treat them well, or if you continue to have your favourites try not to show it in front of customers.
    - Manage your finances! A huge amount of 50-100 employees were let go due to company financial issues. Who knows what their keeping selection process was.

I worked at Hollister Co. part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

A great group of young people working together
    Great store atmosphere
    Straightforward hiring process

    Cons

In a whole shift you wouldn't earn enough to buy a sweater or pair of jeans from the store which was demoralising, especially since the staff discount was minimal and you were limited to buying only a few items per season that you would mostly wear at work anyways.
Mangers were required to have a degree of any kind; some of the team leaders were very young with no more retail experience than the general staff.
While 'models' were working on the floor at daytime, nighttime workers would do most of the work.

    Advice to Management

Offer better incentives for employees and train management/ team leaders or make sure they have hands-on experience.

I worked at Hollister Co. (More than a year)

    Pros

Fun, like minded people to work with
Decent discount on uniform (50% on 5 items) then down to 20%

    Cons

    Minimum wage
VERY poor hours - 0 hour contract means that they can and do give you as little as 5 hours a week.
'Call-in' system means that you get given shifts which are not actually made official until you call the store on the day and ask if they need help. This means that it fills your diary a week in advance but you may well not be working that day.
Shifts are tiny, (4-5 hours). It does not make it worth driving into the town centre and parking

    Advice to Management

No more call-ins. They're manipulative of young people and their supposed 'free time'.
Give more shifts and longer hours.
