Pros

-Rebecca, Joel, and Ivan are wonderful people. They were wonderful to work for and I miss getting to interact with them. -You get sales experience and have the potential to easily pull in $15/hr. I was making $17-$19/hr each week. -They're good about providing incentives, and take care of you as an employee. Work parties, kitchen, sales bonuses (gift cards, $1 extra per week, etc.) -Paid time off for major holidays, healthcare options, etc.

Cons

Ignoring the high stress reality of what you're doing - taking one call after another for 8 hours a day (there are no breaks between calls) - what you're doing as an employee is unethical. Using deceptive techniques to lure callers into calling by posting job ads that are just postings pulled from Indeed, your actual job as a "career adviser" is to shame people into talking to someone about going to college. But not just any college - for profit college. For profit universities take advantage of underprivileged, under-educated individuals. Break down of what your caller goes through: 1. Googles "HEB jobs" 2. Clicks one of our sponsored links at the top of the page 3. Link has them fill out age, DOB, hometown, education level, name, and email address 4. They are prompted to call us for more information about job postings 5. They call us, we ask a couple minutes of info about what kind of job they want, and then ask if they've thought about the benefits of college 6. Yes? Great. The rest of the call is telling them about the education adviser you're going to transfer them to. 7. If you transfer them, you get paid. If you don't, you stay at your baseline.

Pros

$... kitchen $, bonus $... literally just money

Cons

(job-description="Career Advisors to provide our users with job search and other services over the phone. We provide our users with free job search assistance and we are paid when we can match them with other free services.") It's ALL about the "free service(s?)"... the free service is to SWINDLE p e o p l e into college. Bare in mind that the job seekers who call in (9x out of 10) think we really are McDonald's or Target, or UPS, and so forth. Typically and just honestly, the people who call in are the "low-brow" or lower class population of society... they aren't usually knowledgeable about the technology in job searching... like, that you can just go to indeed.com, search for McDonald's, and apply directly to the company. It's just the truth... the demography of the calls your receive. Now you may not be a "scam" as in "taking money"... however, you're wasting your time (because YOU DO NOT LOOK FOR THE JOBS FOR THESE PEOPLE... it's automated, and sends an artificial set of applications that aren't necessarily accurate for them)... you're scamming time, and a false hopeful guarantee of a chance at employment; all after an all encompassing, "Hmm, so they have their G.E.D., a kid, a kid on the way, and they're barely making-ends-meet = 'Well, it sounds like a program in Business Studies would be a a perfect fit, huh?'." I'd recommend this job to a friend, only if they wanna make bank! The pay is awesome, but I'd have to be desperate, in debt, and willing to give up some integrity to stay for more than a few days - which oh yeah, I've been here for more than a few days. I need $, and I feel gross.

Pros

This is among the better paying customer service positions in town. The company is pretty flexible with time off and you can take your break (1 hour paid) in any increments or time you'd like. Also get designated meal time. They will work with you when things aren't going well. Constantly hiring. Room to grow. Relaxed dress and atmosphere.

Cons

The job is simply is a lie to push people off on for profit schools when they think they are calling a company to finish their job application. So, if you have ethics or empathy that can be tricky. You're talking to the poorest, dumbest people in the country, and it can be taxing because you can feel bad for them, and hate them at the same time. Repetitive.
