    Pros

Good culture. They are really trying to do things right, both in the company and outside it. Good atmosphere and team environment, for the most part. They do want to develop within -although this does appear to be words more than action. Good salary, pension and holidays. You feel good working for Huntsman, proud to work there.

    Cons

Execution of promoting and developing internal talent is not actioned as strongly as their words and internal documents suggest they would like to be. But this is an area for development. There's a of leaders who need to develop being an actual leader and inspiring action, however this appears to be a big focus on their external recruitment.

    Advice to Management

Focus more on developing internal talent. Live the words.

    Pros

The wage is the only pro I can think of but no amount of money can buy your life

    Cons

I worked in the Pigments Customer Service dept answered I can honestly say this was one of the worst years of my life. Ian still scarred by the experience now.

I have never worked in a more fearful, bullying, backstabbing environment and the stress of working here took over every aspect of my life. The focus was that all staff should conform to the 'perfect employee'. Diversity and individualism meant was not welcome and if your face did not fit you became a target or a joke.

Middle management were absolutely juvenile and although I know changes have been made here reading the reviews on here demonstrates that little has changed

This should be a fantastic place to work but isn't

    Advice to Management

Embrace diversity. You pride yourselves on recruiting talent from all over the world but then you want them all to be exactly the same

    Support people don't bully them

Create a team environment where people actually enjoy coming into work and being with each other. This means accepting people's flaws and working with them instead of putting pressure on them to be perfect

I worked at Huntsman Corp full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

    - Good salary
    - 1 hour lunch break
    - private health insurance

    Cons

    - Lots of backstabbing and bitchiness. Trust no one!
    - They don't recognise what you good but always tell you what you do wrong
    - Almost impossible to get promoted.
    - End of the month is sacred and you have to stay till late if required (I have seen people staying till 10pm or 11pm). If you don't, you get bad looks and digs. They say that it is required that all staff give their best even though if this means not having breaks.
    - They try to make that this job is your life by encouraging you to do overtime and sometimes not getting paid for it.
    - High turnover
    - Clueless management since they fired the most experienced staff
    - Don't get sick too often or they will use it to get you into trouble, they could even sack you! I had a mate who got her probation review brought forward because her mom died and she was absent for too long. They thought they would prove a point!!!
    - If you have problems with your work colleagues, your team leader won't do anything about it and will keep a record to prove you are a troublemaker and can't work cooperatively.

    Advice to Management

Stop promoting friends and put remedies to bad behaviour and bulling please! No one should feel intimidated or scared to express how they feel. Praise more often and don't rub people's mistakes on their faces so much!

I worked at Huntsman Corp full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    - Great company to work with, looks good on your CV
    - The Customer Service department will hire you at entry level so it's a good start to your career
    - They invest a lot in your training so you are not thrown at the deep end.
    - There are opportunities to move up but there are masses of office politics that you have to play up to in order to get the opportunities; meaning that the promotion does not always go to the most prepared/experienced/skilled candidate but the candidate that fits in more with the cliquey-gossipy culture.

    Cons

-The Customer Service team lacks communication and a real team feeling.
    - A lot of gossiping in the Customer Service team: jealousy and general misery.
    - A high turnover in this team however because this is an entry-level job, this is to be expected.
    - There is a 'blame' culture where if something goes wrong nobody owns up to it, everyone blames each other and middle management are more preoccupied with finding the culprit and reprimand them than getting issues sorted.

    Advice to Management

Work more to build a team at the Customer Service department and on their communication.

I worked at Huntsman Corp full-time

    Pros

Good base salary, some nice people, flexi working

    Cons

Too much expected, no progression, boys club, hierarcical, lure you in with money and the promise of a good package and day to day is a trudge
