I have been working at ICP Search full-time for more than a year

    Pros

I have worked at ICP Search for around 14 months now and it is 100% the best career move I have ever made. Since day one, I have had all the support I have needed from management to succeed and have received excellent training which has helped me to develop my career significantly. If you are ambitious and driven, then ICP Search will be an amazing place for you to achieve great things. It is a mature, fun, autonomous and collaborative working environment with a truly brilliant team of people. There is no micro management and I have never not received advice or guidance when I have asked for it. In my time here so far, I have achieved promotions, have been encouraged to travel internationally to meet clients (without having to request it) and in my earlier days, was given patience, time and trust from management to build out a new market for the company in a manner which suited my work style. Every member of the team has a voice and a role to play in the direction of the company. There are plenty of laughs and a good social aspect too. I can't recommend enough.

    Cons

In my opinion, the culture is spot on, management is brilliant and the team are fantastic. I wouldn't change a thing.

I worked at ICP Search full-time for more than a year

    Pros

    - Autonomous work environment. Generally speaking you will be left to your own devices and proceed how you see best. Very hands off leadership -Friendly colleagues. The team were always a nice bunch. Non-political and quite collaborative. Social bunch too. -Not a heavy KPI environment. Whilst call times and ratios are recorded, the emphasis was more on quality, not quantity. - Good support from HR and external trainers / mentors - A family run lifestyle business that is a good place to carry on your trade. - Low pressured environment and a good place if you are an experienced consultant looking for a reasonable work life balance. -Supportive culture, people want to see one another do well.

    Cons

-Whilst more stable now, it is not the company it once was. It has been in gradual decline for a while now. - A lot of the market verticals that ICP once had a name for itself in have been left by the wayside. -Overall revenues generated have continued to decrease. -Most consultants were underperforming and not hitting their financial targets for the year. -Base salary and commission structure is sightly below average for the market in Brighton -CEO, whilst supportive, has problems delivering hard or difficult news, meaning issues are often communicated poorly. -The CFO is overly risk adverse. This creates issues as well as lost revenues and business opportunities for ICP. -Promotions felt hollow; with a a change in Job title but no real change in pay or responsibilities -No working from home policy as staff were not trusted to do so, apart from certain individuals, which caused some resentment -Quite a strong culture of mediocrity, whilst not a bad thing in itself, if you're looking to really push yourself, it's probably not the place for you. -It's highly likely that the previous review was written by the CEO (used a lot of buzzwords he tends to use as well as the 'fist bump' emoji. Watch out for the validity of some of these reviews. Don't listen to the ultra negative ones either, they're not fair or impartial either.

    ICP Search Response

Thank you for your review. We%E2%80%99re obviously sad that you had such a bad employee experience at ICP Search, we don%E2%80%99t wish that for any members of our team past or present. As you know, we pride ourselves on having a flat management structure, recruiting superstars who thrive on autonomy and an open door policy where employees can feedback/discuss any concerns, issues or ideas that they may have at any time. I am sorry too that you felt you couldn%E2%80%99t be open and honest during your time with us, particularly about the lack of progression/opportunity you felt you were missing as that was certainly the time to stand out, be positive and take advantage of the many career opportunities provided. With regards to the working hours, we are contracted to work 39 hours per week with a 4pm finish on a Friday. I think it%E2%80%99s important to note that in recruitment there will always be times where you may need to start or finish earlier due to candidate and client availability. This is the norm and to support this we also offer flexible working hours to ensure our team can accommodate a healthy work life balance alongside providing the best possible service for our clients at the same time. We also have regular pay reviews to reflect performance (and wider contribution) and because of this our salaries are always very competitive. We proactively provide pay increases/bonuses and flexibility. Our team culture, welfare and happiness has always been our number one focus and as always, we are 100\% committed to making sure we thrive together.Thank you again for your feedback, I wish you every success.

I worked at ICP Search full-time for more than a year

    Pros

    - Like minded colleagues, genuine friends in and out of work - Excellent external training - Sonos speakers on desks (no awkward silences when no ones hitting the phones) - Emphasize culture, fair play and emotion when committing to work - Promising young lead consultants that should be cherished and motivated, not by higher targets but by given a voice, recognition and decision power on how the business operates day to day

    Cons

    - High staff turnover in the last 18 months (one a month average for a company <50), including most key middle/senior management - Lack of middle management, limited day to day support - Rooted in former ways of working, new ideas are halted for short term business goals to be hit - Commission scheme was market average (0% threshold, then many tiers from 10,12,16,20%'s), minimal annual 'kicker' and no discussion on salary reviews

    Pros

Great bunch of people who work together to ensure personal and professional goals are achieved. Everyone is treated like an adult and you are encouraged to stretch and improve yourself every day -- with the full backing of the management. Success is celebrated and failure is accepted, these are the best ways to learn and develop, as we have proven over the recent months.

    Cons

Can be stressful if you are given too much autonomy but I'd much rather this than being micro-managed.

I have been working at ICP Search full-time for more than a year

    Pros

I have worked at ICP Search for 15 months and I can honestly say it's like no other place I've worked (and I know everybody says that...but it's true) - The teams have each others back! In most recruitment companies, the mentality is ‘dog eat dog’ and ‘everybody is out for themselves’. It’s not like that at ICP. We're a big team and help each other out. Cheesy as hell, but it's like a little family! - Everybody is included in company-wide decisions. Of course, there are management meetings which are behind closed doors...like every company has, but if there is something which will affect the whole company, we are all included. It makes me (and others) feel included and valued. -We work on some fantastic sectors! Not every day do you hear people talking and self-driving cars and satellites being sent into Space. The sectors are constantly evolving so you’re always learning something new! - We have some pretty decent perks - Friday beer fridge, early finish on a Friday. Pizza lunches, end of quarter events (Go Karting, Paintballing, Lazer Quest, Volleyball) - We also went on Holiday to Barcelona!! - Training & Development - If you want to develop your skills in a certain area, ICP Search is happy to let you learn some extra skills. - The office is in the heart of the Laine in Brighton. This means lunchtime in the summer are spent on the beach…all the time!

    Cons

I wouldn’t even say there are cons. The only thing I would say is there isn’t any parking. If you don’t live in Brighton you need to either get the train or park in a car park. (which is only a 10min walk) Not that this is a con, but people who work at ICP Search are 'go-getters'. If you want your hand holding and to be constantly micromanaged, ICP Search won't suit you.

I have been working at ICP Search full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

-ICP is a well-positioned search firm sitting in niche industries. We have a great market reputation and 16 years of successful trading to back it up. -Working within niche industries is excellent, presenting unique rewards and challenges. My focus is on connected media (video streaming, OTT, VOD etc.), our markets are fast-paced and genuinely interesting to recruit within. -Our staff are a tight-knit bunch of girls/guys. We have each other's backs and are very collaborative. - We're located in the heart of the South Laines, just down from the Pier - We have a good social aspect as well, including company holidays, quarterly events and charity nights. - A very self-empowering environment, highly autonomous. -We promote from within. If you are willing to work for it, you will get it. I've been promoted 3 times since I joined. -We have a great deal of external training which is incredibly useful -We have a very strong support team, leaving consultants and delivery teams to get on with front facing activities. It frees up a lot of our time. -A good level of international travel for consultants

    Cons

-Our office lifts break down a lot and we are on the forth floor. Maybe skip if you don't like stairs or getting stuck with your colleagues in a lift ;) -Not a firm for you if you want to be another cog in the wheel. We are all accountable for our own actions, no hiding or shying away from this.
