I have been working at IG full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Good Company, decent pay for recently qualified staff.

    Cons

Difficult for long term career progression. Lot's of similar roles, suitable for early stages of career, limited senior positions.

I worked at IG full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Some of the people there are decent and honest

    Cons

No real direction given; no prioritisation of initatives and instead an expectation from middle and senior management to do everything with zero compromise, regardless of the pressure and stresses that places upon employees. Lead to so many evening and weekend shifts with little recognition or thanks. The only people to progress/remain unscathed are ones who were there in the 'good old days' years ago and are therefore untouchable, regardless of how they behave and act towards other people. There is absolutely no chance of career progression or promotion unless you're in the 'inner circle' and it is nauseating observing how people climb over others to get there, regardless of their suitability for the roles on offer. There is a blame culture there with people happy to throw each other under the bus, which has created a toxic atmosphere, leading to many of the good people jumping ship in recent months.

I worked at IG full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

Good if you are dead in your career , loser ,or is non competitive and just want to keep your self little easy in life. Nice Modern office , free fruit and drinks , Nice annual Christmas party, Flexible benefits

    Cons

QA department is the most non competitive set , leads and management here is a total waste of time, big time politics and favourism by oldies, micromanage team members ,no recognition,no scope of career progression for intelligent, creative and hard working person working under them - Simply bcoz if you can outgrow your leads or manager, where will they go ? QA manager in particular likes harmless , non competitive leads so that he stands a chance to survive in the organisation. HR is biased in case you complain qbout your lack of progression here . Cost cutting in the name of modern office , work from home.Under big pressure due to regulatory curbs on their head. In nutshell, its a small company with limited projects , high on favorism, monarchy kind of management , limited growth . Good for graduates / early career in case you dont find any other offer.

I have been working at IG full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Employee age is generally 25-35. Good social and happy people. Lots to learn. Good industry breadth. Bonus can be ok. Hub drinks. Company has been expanding so hopefully opportunities. I feel management listen. I feel valued and listened too. Lots of international offices and expanding - Trading services and sales positions relatively frequent. Multicultural. Great location on Cannon Street, London.

    Cons

Flat management structure could also be a pro, however i can see how it may have issues for career progression further up. Within Trading Services I don't feel the pay adequately reflects the skills, potential stress, job requirements, or work done. When compared to others in the business at the same level and their pay (as stated and talked about amongst friends) it doesn't reflect for the greater responsibility, and other reasons, as above.

I have been working at IG

    Pros

Fun and lively place to work. There are a lot of very interesting people who are very welcoming. The culture is innovative and everyone's opinion matters. The company is also very supportive of personal and professional development.

    Cons

The working hours can be long (9-6) but expect to stay longer on occasions. For most departments the career progression routes are not entirely clear.
