Diverse at the bottom but not on top. No progression. Pay is lower than other media companies. Top managment dismisses feedback and it's a one way downward communication. Commercial rules everything with very outdated ideas. No option to consolidate your previous pensions into the ITV one. Private health benefit gets taxed by HMRC at the end of each year instead of each month duducted by the employer. No training budget. Restructure has seen many people recycled into roles they had no experience in.

was bullied for nearly a year nothing was done about it, was paid very low wage for long time - confidence suffered dream of working for ITV is crushed when you get there people are favoured for longevity rather than hard work mental heath suffered was told to go for walk when I told boss about mental health issues

Pros

Permanent staff are very approachable, friendly and help you to get to know the systems. Really feels like you're at the heart of making Telly in London and a great buzz to be working on some fantastic formats.

Cons

Very bad culture of hiring staff year on year, who had a 'name for themselves', like being back at school and being bullied. It was evident after a while, that none of the internal staff wanted to work with this freelancer but they seem to be re -hiring and allowed for a newcomer to come in a take the daily string of abuse, verbally, slamming papers on desk and shouting in the office. Put in a position where complaining would have been detrimental to career and sadly did not feel very protected by ITV.

Pros

Some fun shows Some lovely people but often stressed or worried about their job. Culture of fear. All senior management white and not in touch ie last month one middle class blonde white person asked the only black staff member ‘what matters to black people, Black Lives Matter.’ It’s like they’ve come out of a coma and realised there’s black and indian people!

Long hours on low pay. Cliquey Not diverse. Race. Women Ignorant. If you’re white, pretty and blonde you’ll be fine. If you’re not you’ll never know as you won’t get a foot in the door. Worked in itv daytime for 30 years seen very little change in terms of diversity of race or women. Sadly the women are too worried and insecure about their own jobs to even think of lifting up another woman. My friends work on GMB, This Morning and Loose Women and they all ‘hate the toxic energy’ and bullying by the editors and presenters even the production coordinators think they’re important and are sometimes cruel and mean. Probably they know they’re glorified secretaries and not bright enough to be producers. It’s not right. Someone should say something but no one ever will. It’s sad.
