due to lack of experience, time frame was punishing. Some Customers contact details were out of date.

    Advice to Management

Verify Details and Update ASAP, used to be done in-store, now done by third-party

I have been working at Iceland Foods part-time for less than a year

    Pros

    Competitive pay. Flexible. Accommodating.

    Cons

Communication could be better. Inefficient and sloppy work could be tackled more robustly.

    Advice to Management

Ensure all managers are working to the same standard. Be more alert to sloppy work practices.

I have been working at Iceland Foods full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

Can be flexible at times, pay is reasonable, love working with the customers

    Cons

Too much expectation, over loaded, drivers no longer plan routes, new devices do it for us which makes things a lot harder. Frequently run late, little to no support from the store

    Advice to Management

    Listen to the drivers

  5. "It was good at the start"

    StarStarStarStarStar
Former Employee - Home Delivery Driver

I worked at Iceland Foods part-time for less than a year

    Pros

Good pay, it was £9.50 p/h

    Cons

Used to do deliveries by splitting them between two drivers via paper e.g. there would be 16 deliveries and one driver would get 8 and the other would get 8 A new system was introduced (mobile phone) which basically put all the information you needed on to that device so there was no longer for the need of paperwork. It was also your Sat Nav. Since that happenes it became a not enjoyable job. It make the job... unfair and more stressful. As the device allocates jobs based on what it thinks one van can do (in a 2 hr slot) e.g. if there was 16 deliveries, it could put 12 on one van and 4 on the other. This made it pretty much impossible to do the job and you were always running late - turned into a really tiring, back bending job - don't apply

I have been working at Iceland Foods part-time for more than a year

    Pros

Free tea and coffee, friendly environment

    Cons

Lack of experience from management in this field creates impossible delivery runs, e.g. ETA to store on return leaves you with 5 minutes turnaround, and drivers are expected to unload empty crates, return them to store front, before sorting out their deliveries for next window. Poorly staffed. Only 4/5 drivers on childlike contracts, poorly paid - only £9.22 per hour and alot is expected. Basically like slavery.....

    Advice to Management

Hire a transport planning clerk, scrap Route Monkey, pay drivers more, get bigger vans!!

I have been working at Iceland Foods full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

Worked for Iceland for 7 years and unfortunately there are not too many to mention have seen other reviews on site and unfortunately I can relate to all of them both good and bad so really judge for your self cons completely outstrip the pros

    Cons

Cons where do I start apart from reiterating other reviews on this site.management that never listen give u no support and this goes right to the top head office seem completely blind as to what goes on or maybe there not and just choose to ignore it as from my experience they are not prepared to listen.stores are constantly under budget for staffing hours and morale up and down as a result.as a driver you are... expected to work with a computerised route monkey system which plans your route but can not take into account traffic no. of crates you delivery, whether it's to flat where there are no lifts, rush hours you load and unload your own van they allow u half the time to do this at my store can take up to 45mins of the 2hr window your then expected to do unrealistic deliveries up to 10 -12 on some occasions.turnover of drivers is huge and no one will listen except to brand you as a moaner .time to find an employer that respects me I think

    Advice to Management

Have the balls to listen to your employees and put their cases to head office instead of burying your heads in the sand because until then you will get no respect and not only that you are failing in your job
