    Doesn't Recommend
    Negative Outlook
    Disapproves of CEO

I have been working at Iceland Foods full-time for more than 8 years

    Pros

Good progression. Went from front line to Store Manager in 8 years. That included doing a Retail Management Level 4 apprenticeship. Good rewards. Extremely high expectation leads to fantastic looking stores to be proud of.

    Cons

Very poor work/home balance. Simply not enough hours to run the stores and big events like changeovers are very rarely funded correctly. Sometimes extremely misfunded. A year ago one changeover was underfunded by 75 hours, meaning I ended up doing three consecutive 15 hour days to land it. Unacceptable. Head office get a huge amount wrong, communication is poor and sometimes they change their minds so often it is hard to keep up. The level of incompetence is sometimes staggering. In my opinion pay is very unfair for the demand on Store Managers.

    Pros

Pay is above average at management level

    Cons

In store hours have been cut so much the job has become near impossible. Definitely just a number now no matter how long you have been there.
