I worked at Imperial Tobacco full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Loyal employees, sense of camaraderie, fantastic benefits, nice working environment. Is committed to its workforce

    Cons

Senior managers don't model the organizational values

Trying to drive a shift in culture and as part of this have removed the really good HR operational team that used to be in place whilst moving to a shared service model, this hasn't been smooth and saw some really strong people leave the business..

I worked at Imperial Tobacco full-time

    Pros

The people are a real positive working for Imperial. They are all genuinely nice people and are broadly supportive for new people coming into the business

    Cons

There can be times when senior individuals within the organisation do not listen to their functional direct reports. This can lead to decisions being made which are more based on "gut feel" rather than based on the facts of a situation

    Advice to Management

Manage graduates more effectively. There was a fairly poor management of expectations for the graduate cohort in terms of what support can be expected from the company for development. Further to this have a clear view of what roles graduates would be coming out of the scheme onto and communicate this rather than providing minimal support.
