Pros

You will be doing an event end to end. Onsite exposure.

Cons

Working here was one of the worst experiences I've had. Management, specifically the head of marketing, is highly indecisive, overly controlling, and lacks respect for employees' contributions, making it difficult to work in peace. One example: I was asked to pick up trash, which I understand given high labor costs in the U.S. I requested a pair of gloves for hygiene reasons since I was also handling food and working in front of customers, but this was denied. Instead, I was told to wash my hands after every instance of picking up trash. When I stood firm on needing gloves, it led to tension. Upon returning from the event, I was abruptly fired. When I asked for a reason, I was told, “There’s no point in going over it, as what’s done is done and can’t be reversed.” Additionally, my ideas were implemented at the event without credit, among other issues that reflected poor leadership and disregard for employees. I’ve shared my experience to hopefully prevent them from leaving stable jobs for this volatile environment. I wouldn’t recommend this workplace to anyone.

A Workplace That Feeds on Itself

Pros

• Fast-paced environment that challenges adaptability • Opportunities to work with a diverse range of personalities • Experience navigating complex organizational dynamics • Exposure to high-pressure decision-making situations • Develop resilience and problem-solving under tight deadlines

Cons

A toxic workplace can be likened to The Hunger Games, where colleagues become rivals and the focus shifts from collaboration to pure survival. Office politics take center stage, with shifting alliances, hidden agendas, and a constant scramble to stay in management’s good graces. The ‘game’ rewards those who play politics, while genuine teamwork is sidelined. Over time, this cutthroat environment takes a serious toll on mental health and drains productivity — because when you’re dodging arrows, you’re not building anything lasting.
