I have been working at Inmarsat part-time

    Pros

Despite the current share price, everything else at Inmarsat seems to be going very well. The new values are fantastic, really simple and they resonate. Flexible working and diversity are now being taken seriously. Exec is more approachable and feels less political. It feels more positive.

    Cons

There is still cynicism in general and particular concern about going open plan. Some managers do not have one to ones or encourage developing their teams.

    Advice to Management

Hold your manager and leaders accountable for motivating, encouraging and developing their teams.

    Cons

a company with two many VPs and Directors with no clue which way the wind is blowing

    Advice to Management

Stop useless travel which will save million dollars. If travel is need it has to be coach class and 2 star hotel. Too many people taking the company for a ride.

I have been working at Inmarsat full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    A good Satellite service company.
The environment is not stressful for a satellite controller.

    Cons

Skills and roles are undervalued, so salaries are low too. However, HR have their own justification,
Little opportunity to grow. They will not bother to provide you a better package as your experience grows.
If you work harder, they will only expect you to do more without any added compensation.

    Advice to Management

It is about time when techincal roles are given the value they deserve and give better pay to RT Ops and engineers.

    I worked at Inmarsat full-time

    Pros

    Old School Culture
    Flexible hours
    Decent co workers

    Cons

    Old School Culture
    Old boys network
    Dated and weak processes
    No compliance checks
Money being wasted due to extensive overpayments and weak internal controls
AP dept managed by a individual who unable to lead. Driven by ego and personal affirmation rather than greater good of team/ department
Senior management is unable to digest constructive criticism and is allowing gross mis conduct .
Culture does it allow innovation of the opportunity to express your contribution.
    Overall it’s a dinosaur organisation .

    Advice to Management

Your egos need to be put on the back burner as the goals of the dept/ company are bigger than your own
