I have been working at Insights full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Working at Insights can be lots of fun – the work is generally interesting; there is a relaxed atmosphere in most parts of the business with a great team spirit; you are given a lot of freedom to organise your working day without having your boss breathe down your neck; and the social side of work is fantastic.
The Company has a great vision which, on the surface is very inspiring, although at times, the way some senior managers talk about the Company can be slightly cult-like and pseudo-religious.
The offices are modern with a relaxed feel, and some fantastic people work there – intelligent and talented but also nice and kind.
Saying that there are a few narcissistic individuals who think they know it all (and unfortunately the ones who make the loudest noise are often nothing more than empty vessels) but would be laughed at in any other company.
If you’re happy to just cruise along and pick up your salary at the end of the month you’ll love Insights. If you are a young career-minded individual, Insights is a good organisation to get some experience before finding a proper job.

    Cons

If you are a serious professional looking to advance your career avoid Insights like the plague – you’ll only end up disappointed. This is a company that seriously overestimates its own value and capability: a company that teaches others the importance of self-awareness yet has an amazing lack of self-awareness when it comes to doing business; a company that teaches others to be agile and manage change yet has such a poor track record of doing these things itself. Hypocrisy and double standards abound!
The CEO has surrounded herself with ‘yes men’ who flatter her ego rather than telling her how it is.
The Executive are either incapable of making sound business decisions or are paralysed by indecision.
Some senior managers are over-opinionated and under-qualified for the roles they occupy; some of them wouldn’t get past the CV sift if they had to apply for their own jobs; they lack accountability and are rewarded for failure.
Systems are clunky, outdated and not customer-friendly – the business will claim that their strategic programmes will solve these problems, but the ones in charge of creating the mess are the same ones tasked with resolving it.
Staff are looked down upon despite many of them having more experience and business-savvy that their managers; most staff are undervalued and underpaid for the level of responsibility they hold.
Career development is non-existent unless you’re in a sales role.
After a damming Staff Engagement Survey (which just highlighted issues that the staff had been mentioning for years) the business is engaged in a perpetual feedback loop rather than just solving the issues that are so patently clear (such as poor staff retention, lack of transparency around salaries, lack of career development opportunities, double standards in how people are treated etc.)
The general attitude is shut up and put up or get out.

    Advice to Management

The Exec should spend some time actually talking to staff instead of producing stupid 'carpool karaoke' videos! (That means meeting actual staff not just senior 'leaders')
Stop talking about making things better and just get on and do something! You already have enough feedback to see what the problems are - step up to the mark for once!
Stop telling everyone else to be accountable for their actions when you have a level of management that are not accountable, that do not produce results and that thrive on failure.
Realise that strategic programmes which are set to be delivered in 2 years' time don't solve the problems staff face now
You really need to get your act together to stop the most talented individuals from leaving the organisation before its too late - proper salaries, clear career progression, staff development etc.
Hypocrisy and double standards abound so unless you start tackling this, the gulf between what you claim to do and what you actually do will just get wider and wider - and more of your clients will realise that.

    Pros

An inclusive culture that puts people's personality preferences at the heart of retention. Great people.

    Cons

Due to rapid growth, processes are very inefficient, and client service quality is affected. Whilst the people, the ethos and the product are great, the quality of the client experience lets them down.

    Advice to Management

Listen to your clients to understand the quality of their experience.

I have been working at Insights full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

I work at Insights full-time for around 4 years based out of the Dundee Terra Nova Office. (Main Headquarters)

The work atmosphere is great and there is a big sense of belonging and a "Family" away from family feel.

    Cons

Salary Expectations are way off and this information can be obtained by taking 10 minutes to do a quick Job Search / Expected Salary for the same role you are doing at Insights. Underpaid is an understatement.

People are leaving because of this, and Insights are losing talent fast.

Insights say they use a Formula / System to determine the "Average" pay someone should receive for their role, which feels way off the national average. Living costs are going up, and this needs to reflect in the Salaries.

    Free Fruit won't cut it.

    Advice to Management

Rework the Benefits Platform, and offer a better incentive to retain talent within the company and provide an increase in Salary for your employees before it's to late.

I have been working at Insights full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

The product is great and everyone believes in it. The staff on the ground are good at their jobs and keep the wheels turning. Mostly people are smart, friendly and want the best for customers.

    Cons

You could easily take away the top tier of management and productivity wouldn’t change. There is no accountability at this level, no decision making, and no consequences for being bad at your job - in fact the more BS you talk the more you get rewarded. It’s an elite circle of people telling each other how great they are, but the lower ranking staff have no faith in their abilities or intentions. And are too scared to challenge. The decisions that are made are mostly based on egos and not on what is best for the customers or the company. Salaries and benefits should all be increased for those that actually work hard and the senior leadership teams should stop believing their own hype.

    Advice to Management

Put the customer first. Stop the insecure game playing. Reward and value the people that are holding the business up from the bottom and use the amazing products to be better. The company has enormous potential to be an amazing place to work.

    Pros

Global company is the only Pro.

    Cons

The organisation offers low pay for top skills, HR says they pay by national average and use a "secret formula". They don't care about your previous skills, they will promise you all kinds of career growth and you will stay in the same role for years. There is proof of people in their "co-ordinator" role for YEARS! Senior leaders and extended leaders are always traveling to meet but no action and outcomes of meetings. No vision on business strategy, the business operates with ancient systems that do not work with each other. They will paint a pretty picture at your interviews but do not fall for it.
The sales organisation is a failing mess!

    Advice to Management

Hire QUALIFIED leaders who have experience in leading global organisations and stop trying to fool your employees that you know what you are doing-- advice for Leaders and extended leaders.

    Relaxed environment .
Most of the staff are great people with a lot of passion and heart .

    Cons

    Toxic leadership .
    Staff do not feel safe.
Lack of impact of actions amongst leadership.
Lack of agility and accountability .
Antiquated systems not fit for purpose .
Current CEO is destroying the business .
Unethical and political regime that cannot take feedback .
    Lack of vision .
Strategic rollouts with zero planning that cause chaos.
    Cronyism and nepotism is rife.
    Salaries are a mess.
    Staff are leaving continually.
Changes to the business are not customer centric nor does the business support and nurture employees.
Leadership who are making decisions don’t understand or don’t care about our clients world.
Frontline staff are left to deal with the mess.

    Advice to Management

People do not feel safe, respected or valued. The Company is a mess and everyone I know is looking for another job. Stop talking about how you value the people and show them. Talk is meaningless without action it is just noise. People are disengaged and demotivated. Great people are leaving....wake up! You are now at risk of becoming a laughing stock.
